The Rolling Stones had not released any original or unreleased material since 2005 when they released ‘A Bigger Bang.’ Eighteen years later, the legendary British group has decided to make a comeback with  Hackney Diamonds, their 24th studio album.

The band has announced the arrival of this new project in a big way. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood have organized an event that featured Jimmy Fallon, the versatile television presenter, as the master of ceremonies and the presence of media from around the world, including this outlet, LOS40.

The presentation took place in the heart of London, at the Hackney Empire Theater, specifically in the Hackney neighborhood, which is considered one of the most vibrant districts today and is also the namesake of their upcoming album. However, this special press conference was available for global streaming to the delight of all their fans. «Hackney may be at the heart and center of Hackney Diamonds, but this will be a truly global moment, and we want to share it with fans from all over the world via YouTube,» the Rolling Stones expressed.

«We’re here to introduce our new single and music video, called «Angry.» It’s the first single from our album ‘Hackney Diamonds,’ which will be released on October 20t,» Jagger began.

‘Angry’ stood out as the first during the composition and recording process in Jamaica. Keith and Mick initially thought of the album’s concept, which revolved around the idea of appearing angry in every song. Ultimately, the idea evolved into not so much being angry but exploring different styles eclectically.

For their music video, the band enlisted one of the current leading actresses, Sydney Sweeney. The star of ‘Euphoria’ (HBO), present at this event, mentioned, «I didn’t know it was going to be the first teaser from the album, but I love it. I’ve been playing it on repeat since I heard it.»

The lead singer, on the other hand, shared that they «produced the album very quickly, over the past Christmas.» «We’ve been on the road for a long time, so we decided to set a deadline to create the album in December. We compiled 23 tracks, selected 12, finished production in January, and mixed in February,» he commented.

An album with Charlie Watts in mind and in their hearts

«It’s very different now that (Charlie Watts) is not here. He was one of us. We miss him a lot, but thanks to him, we’ve also remained true to ourselves. Several songs we’ve included were written by him in 2019. He’s present on the album,» Richards expressed.

«Playing live is like the Holy Grail, but the studio is a fantastic place to make it work. If we like what we do, it’s very likely it will resonate with our audience and they’ll like it too,» he added.
