Taylor Swift Lends NY Apartment to Sophie Turner Amid Custody Battle with Joe Jonas

The singer has been providing her unconditional support to the actress for weeks

We all would love to have Taylor Swift as a friend, but the reality is that we should all have someone like her in our lives. It has recently come to light that the friendship between the singer and the British actress, Sophie Turner, is now stronger than ever. Over the past few days, we’ve witnessed them enjoying dinners together and sharing secrets while wandering the streets of New York. 

Speculation on social media had already been rife that Swift was extending her support to Turner during her divorce proceedings with Joe Jonas, who is also Taylor’s ex-partner. Now, all those speculations have been substantiated, as the singer of «Cruel Summer» has offered her New York apartment to Turner –a place where the actress and her daughters can comfortably spend the duration of their stay in the city, as reported by Page Six.

It appears that Turner needed a trustworthy place to stay while navigating the legal battle with the middle Jonas Brother. Swift has owned a house in the Tribeca neighborhood for years, as an investment property, and she has now stepped in to assist the Game of Thrones star by handing over the keys. Previously, the British actress had been staying at a luxurious hotel in the city center. 

Paparazzi from Page Six have captured images of Turner settling into the famous New York neighborhood and exploring nearby locations. They also photographed her carrying a foldable crib, a couple of suitcases, and bidding farewell to her two daughters –who were climbing into a van– right outside the apartment. 

What initially seemed like an amicable separation has turned into one of the most sensational divorce cases. According to The Messenger, Sophie has filed a lawsuit against Joe, seeking the return of their shared daughters to her custody in the UK. The actress’s legal team has reportedly approached the courts in Manhattan to facilitate the children’s return to their mother in England. 

Swift & Joe Jonas’ Relationship

While the story of Taylor and Joe dates back many years, it also deserves attention in the present narrative. They were a couple during the summer of 2008. In October of that same year, the singer received a brief 25-second phone call in which the Jonas Brother ended their relationship. From that teenage heartbreak, Taylor wrote the song «Mr. Perfectly Fine.» 

A Long-Standing Friendship 

The friendship between Taylor Swift and Sophie Turner is not a recent development; it has deep roots that span several years. Both have been close friends for quite some time and have consistently supported one another. Since 2018, the renowned actress has demonstrated her fandom for her friend on social media platforms, showing her unwavering support over the years.
