Tainy has finally completed the loading process of his debut album and has shared the result of ‘DATA.’ It’s a 19-song project that includes significant and numerous collaborations with artists ranging from the most emerging trap scene to the most established reggaeton and even prominent representatives of electronic music.

The Puerto Rican producer has taken the step of releasing his first album under his own identity, and it is nothing less than a love letter to Japanese culture, reggaeton and immersive sound textures. Its essence is presented from the outset through the cover, which features the android SENA, an anime character (one of the artist’s passions) representing the entire story and inspiration behind DATA.

Throughout the last year, we’ve heard various singles such as ‘Lo siento BB :/,’ ‘Sci-fi,’ ‘obstáculo,’ ‘Fantasma,’ and ‘La Baby.’

Regarding the development of this album, the creator reflects, «There are no rules about how Latin music should sound. Music is art, so we should create anything that we find incredible and connect with the listener. I had fun; it was a learning experience that I enjoyed a lot because I could express myself in different aspects, not just in music.»

«The creation process was a different journey for me. It took me time to ensure that the music sounded cohesive while highlighting the visual aspect. I spent almost a year perfecting the sound, which served as a foundation for the other elements to come together over almost three years.»Tainy on 'DATA'

Top Collabs

Among the collaborations, we find music legends and renowned figures such as Daddy Yankee, Zion & Lennox, Julieta Venegas, Bad Bunny, Rauw Alejandro, Arcángel, Feid, Skrillex, Myke Towers, but also artists who are gradually making a name for themselves on the charts like Young Miko, Omar Courtz or Álvaro Díaz.

‘DATA’ Track-By-Track

1. obstáculo – Tainy, Myke Towers

‘obstáculo’ showcases an optimistic, energetic and confident Myke Towers as he weaves a story about overcoming all of life’s obstacles, acknowledging his pioneering journey. The perfect blend of nostalgia and assertiveness, Tainy’s signature production is reflected in the track’s fundamentals, keeping its essence alive and making it an undeniable force to be reckoned with.

2. PASIEMPRE – Tainy, Arcángel, Jhayco, Myke Towers, Bad Bunny

‘PASIEMPRE‘ it’s a track that has already make history. The greatest figures of the urban genre team up here to show which is their place and their legacy in the scene. Bad Bunny’s rhymes have also revolutionized social media:

«Y es verdad que yo no pegué el trap,

tampoco soy rey del trap,

tampoco un dios del trap,

yo soy Bad Bunny y soy ma’ grande que el trap,

mi música vendiéndose como el crack

el único que saca un disco y pega to’ los tracks»Bad Bunny in 'PASIEMPRE'

3. Todavía – Tainy, Wisin & Yandel

Tainy brings back those old school reggaeton vibes that two icons like Wisin and Yandel helped to create. A wonderful homage to the origins of the genre and hard-hitting beats that will make us perrear to the floor this summer.

4. FANTASMA | AVC – Tainy, Jhayco

Jhayco and Tainy join again in a very potent song where the Puerto Rican artist sings about getting ghosted in a relationship in which you’d like to go further. The sound effects of the song create a shadowy vibe in line with the title of the song, although it mantains that explosive and danceable rhythm that characterizes Tainy’s personal brand.

5. MOJABI GHOST – Tainy, Bad Bunny

Alongside the release of ‘DATA’, ‘Mojabi Ghost’ has been chosen as the focus single, inspired by the 80s new wave; capturing the essence of synth-pop and electronic elements synonymous with the genre. Here we can listen to a nostalgic Bad Bunny that flows over soft and catchy rhytms.

6. 11 y ONCE – Tainy, Sech, E.VAX

In ’11 y ONCE’ the use of robotic effects with Sech’s melodic voice represents the central theme around ‘DATA’: the fusion between technology and human emotions. The style and personal touches of E.VAX, an American electronic music artist, can also be recognized in the song.

7. desde las 10 (KANY’S INTERLUDE) – Tainy, Kany García

In ‘desde las 10’, Kany García and Tainy deliver a vibrant music composition that feels almost like a religious experience. The combination of Kany’s touching voice, the piano, the sound repetitions and the background voices bring us a drop that has been clearly made from -and for- the soul.

8. mañana – Tainy, Young Miko, The Marías

Young Miko’s seductive reggaeton meets the magical vibe around The Marías’ indie. Only Tainy is capable of making such a dazzling combination of two very different genres and we love it!

9. BUENOS AIRES – Tainy, Mora, Zion

In ‘BUENOS AIRES’, new-wave urban star Mora and old-school reggaeton icon Zion trade verses in a catchy song with powerfull rythmhs that we are ready to dance this summer all night long.

10. LA BABY – Tainy, Daddy Yankee, Feid

‘La Baby’ features Daddy Yankee, Feid and Sech, but the official video gives off girl power vibes, since is led by an empowered group of women artist, a sort of «Miami Squad»—as Camila Cabello, one of the protagonists here, has dubbed it—: Bad Gyal, Becky G, Evaluna, Lali, Camila Cabello, Elena Rose, Rainao and Paopao appear in a music video recorded in the style of a home video (VHS). All these singers have recorded themselves lip-syncing while engaging in daily activities or simply enjoying a moment of calm. For example, we see Bad Gyal applying makeup, Elena Rose driving, Evaluna drinking a smoothie or brushing her teeth.

11. me jodi… – Tainy, Arcángel

In ‘me jodi…’ we can see Arcángel in a quite different register. The reggaetonero sings to love in a pop-infused ballad that gives the proper space to his clever rhymes and urban rythms.

12. VOLVER – Tainy, Rauw Alejandro, Skrillex, Four Tet

Rauw Alejandro’s sensual voice merges into the hypnotic electronic sounds of Skrillex and Four Tet in ‘VOLVER’. The constant speed changes of the song led by Tainy brings more dynamism and movement to this magic drop.

13. EN VISTO – Tainy, Ozuna

It’s difficult to capture the sentimental feeling of missing someone in a compelling reggaeton beat, but Ozuna and Tainy’s ‘EN VISTO’ is an accurate and brilliant example of a sad and nostaligicc perreo.

14. Lo Siento BB :/  – Tainy, Bad Bunny, Julieta Venegas

‘Lo Siento BB:/’ was the first preview of ‘DATA’, released one year ago. Here, we could see for the first time the concept of the album and the idea of ‘SENA’. This iconic drop features Latin pop-rock-indie star Julieta Venegas and the King of contemporary reggaeton, Bad Bunny. Both artisst team up to deliver a brilliant collaboration over Tainy’s moody synths.

15. si preguntas por mi – Tainy, Kris Floyd, Judeline

Kris Floyd brings a danceable flow in ‘si preguntas por mi’, while Judeline provides a magical electropop vibe that feels like entering heaven. The Spanish artist has managed to captivate other big stars like Rosalía with her experimental pop, unique voice, and artistic universe with constant references to the south of the country, her home.

16. Sci-Fi – Tainy, Rauw Alejandro

‘Sci-Fi’ hosts a retro-futuristic vibe that we already feel is characterist of Rauw Alejandro’s style. In the music video, we can feel the inner emotion of entering a club with all the upcoming adventures present in the shadows of the night.

17. CORLEONE INTERLUDE – Tainy, Chencho Corleone

Chencho Corleone stars in the second and last interlude in ‘DATA’. A small pause that gives way to a careful piece of composition where the producer plays with the lights and shadows of the sound and the voice of the reggaetonero.

18. PARANORMAL – Tainy, Alvaro Diaz

The experimental character of Tainy allows us to discover emerging talents in the scene like Álvaro Díaz, an artist that oscillates between rap and Latin and urban pop and who shows us his versatility in the surreal track ‘PARANORMAL.’

19. SACRIFICIO – Tainy, Xantos

The final closing of the album culminates with an emotional rap in ‘SACRIFICIO’. A track that represents the act of looking back to the origins of hip hop, the album’s basic concept. Xantos makes our skin crawl with his passionate verses that tell us a story of personal growth and, of course, sacrifice.
