Gigi Hadid encountered an unexpected setback as she kicked off her summer vacation. On July 10, while on a girls’ trip to the Cayman Islands, Hadid found herself in legal trouble after being arrested at Owen Roberts International Airport.
Soon after Hadid and her companion arrived via a private plane, customs officials allegedly discovered «marihuana and utensils used for the consumption of ganja» in their luggage, and both Hadid and her friend were arrested. They were subsequently taken to the Prisoner Detention Center but later released on bail.

During a court appearance two days later, on July 12, Hadid and her companion entered guilty pleas and were each fined $1,000, according to Cayman Marl Road. Fortunately, they are not facing any further charges.
Responding to the incident, Hadid’s representative informed E! News that the supermodel had been in possession of marijuana legally obtained in New York City with a medical license. Furthermore, they pointed out that medical use of marijuana has been legal in Grand Cayman since 2017. The representative emphasized that Hadid’s record remains clean, and she was able to continue enjoying her time on the island.
