‘Élite,’ is undoubtedly one of the most successful series in Netflix’s history. On October 20, the platform is about to premiere its seventh season, with an eighth season already confirmed.
Omar, the character portrayed by Omar Ayuso and one of the few characters that have been throughout the beginning of the series (although he was absent in the sixth season), is the main protagonist of the new episodes.
Omar tried to start a new life at the university, away from Las Encinas, but he can’t overcome the death of Samuel and the suffering that takes hold of him due to everything he experienced during that high school phase.
Through an internship, Omar returns to ‘Las Encinas’ to confront the problems that torment him. Additionally, he starts attending therapy. He also helps other students at the school with their problems.
The new episodes of the series focus a lot on mental health as a central theme.

As in the previous seasons, Élite returns with new faces. On one hand, there’s Chloe and Carmen, portrayed by Mirela Balić and Maribel Verdú. Chloe is a new student at Las Encinas, and Carmen is her mother, with whom she shares a rather toxic relationship. Both of them are as provocative as they are scandalous, sometimes even competing to make friends.
Gleb Abrosimov joins the cast to play Eric, the rebellious and anti-system cousin of Nico, whose hidden insecurities always lead him towards self-destruction. While we’re familiar with Isadora, a recent main character in the series, someone we hadn’t met until now is her father, Martín. The character portrayed by Leonardo Sbaraglia returns to his daughter’s life to take charge of the family business, though his return hides other concerns.

Another new face is Fernando Líndez, who plays Joel. A very humble and cheerful guy despite all he’s suffered in his life. He lives in the present, unable to indulge in his big dreams until an opportunity arises that could drastically change his life.
The big mystery of the cast is the Brazilian singer Anitta. We’ve known for a few months that the Brazilian singer will be part of the seventh season of Élite, but we don’t know the story of her character.

All these new characters take center stage in the first images shared by the series’ creators on social media, igniting our anticipation for the next season.
While we are already familiar with them, the veteran characters will also continue with their storylines, and Rocío, Iván, Isadora, Nico, Dídac, Sonia, Raúl, and Sara will once again open the doors to their lives and problems.

In addition to confirming the eighth season of the series a few weeks ago, Netflix announced that Mina El Hammani will return. The actress was one of the main characters in the first four parts of the series and will return after bidding farewell to Las Encinas to move to the United States on a scholarship to continue her studies.
We’ll have to wait at least until next year for the eighth season, but luckily, in less than two months, we can watch new episodes of Élite.
