‘Mentira No Es’: Fuerza Régida & Banda MS Rules Regional Mexican Airplay Chart

As we’ve mentioned before, and we’re thrilled to keep saying it: Mexican music is conquering hearts –and charts– worldwide.  

This year has been remarkable for Mexican music and its artists, who have been shining brightly on the global stage. Recently, Fuerza Régida has demonstrated how this music transcends borders and captivates audiences from diverse cultures and backgrounds with their cumbia soccer-themed song ‘Tiki Taka Toko’ for the Leagues Cup. 

But that’s not all, the band also performed a sold-out show at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, breaking the record for the highest attendance for a Latin act at the venue. This achievement shows that Mexican music is leaving an indelible mark on the music industry. 

‘Mentira No Es’  

One of the most important elements for Regional Mexican Music is emotion. Of course, it’s something the song and the bands have deep in their roots, and the lyrics are quite relatable. Who has not felt the feeling of reaching out for an ex-partner to reconcile and confess that we still love them? If not us, probably someone we know.   

The struggle of letting go and moving on is portrayed in the song, and how the pain and overwhelming emotions intensify under the effects of alcohol. The song reflects the profound feelings that last after a breakup.

Regional Mexican Airplay  

Fuerza Regida and Banda MS’ latest collaboration, ‘Mentira No Es,’ has reached the top spot on Billboard‘s Regional Mexican Airplay chart, moving from no.6 to no.1 on the July 29-dated list. This marks their second successful team-up, before, Banda MS featured Fuerza Regida on their song ‘Santo Patrón,’ which peaked at no.13 in June.  

According to Luminate, the ‘Menitra No Es’ dominates the charts with 7.5 million audience impressions recorded in the week ending July 20. Having a 38% increase from the previous week. As the collaboration climbs to the top, Banda MS secures its 19th No. 1, the first since ‘Hay Que Hacer Dinero,’ featuring Eden Muñoz, led for a week in July 2022. 

Meanwhile, Fuerza Regida achieves its second Regional Mexican Airplay No. 1, following the three-week reign of ‘Bebe Dame,’ with Grupo Frontera, this March-April.
