After achieving success with «Milagrosa,» Milo J has gained a big recognition on digital platforms through collaborations such as Nicki Nicole’s Latin Grammy-nominated ‘ALMA,’ «Dispara,» and the explosive collaboration «AEROBICO» with Duki, Lit Killah, and Bhavi. Since this past weekend, all signs pointed to the fact that the young artist would be the featured artist in the session with the famous producer, and the finally confirmed it some days ago. Now they have drop a true bomb: a session and a joint E.P. at the same time.
But, who is Milo J, and why did social media know that he would be the new protagonist of a session before Biza announced it?
Camilo Joaquí Viraruel, better known as Milo J, is a young artist who, at just 16 years old, has already accumulated millions of streams since he released his first hit in August 2022. He gained significant attention with «Rara Vez,» a track produced alongside Taiu, which has garnered over 250 million listens on Spotify and more than 85 million views on YouTube.
Born in Morón, a city in the Buenos Aires province, Milo J’s journey in the urban music scene began much like many other artists who have become global phenomena: in freestyle rap battles. However, he didn’t take long to delve into the world of music production, inspired by his sister and musical influences that range from YSY A to Justin Bieber.
In 2021, he joined the BajoWest crew, which supported him in recording his initial songs like «Tu Paz,» «1708,» and «Morocha.» In August 2022, he released his breakthrough hit, «Milagrosa,» a track that catapulted him to stardom thanks to its viral success. Towards the end of 2022, he started collaborating with other artists, with standout tracks like «El Bolero» alongside Argentine artist Yami Safdie, which surpassed 15 million streams.
Shortly after, in February 2023, he released «Rara Vez,» followed by his debut EP, «511,» featuring five trap tracks that further solidified his presence in the national music scene. In May, he released the iconic «Dispara» with Nicki Nicole, a song they both performed live during «La Velada del Año 3,» one of the largest Spanish-language streaming events worldwide. His recent collaborations with Bhavi, Duki, and Lit Killah in «Aerobico,» and with Bhavi and YSY A in «Flechazo en el Centro,» demonstrate the continued growth of his artistic career within the Argentine music scene, with a trajectory that undoubtedly aims for the top.
After the Argentine producer released his controversial nine-minute teaser for BZRP Music Sessions Vol. 57, social media has been abuzz with theories and speculations. The names of various pop icons (due to Bizarrap’s sudden shift to Bizapop), such as Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Lali, or even Dua Lipa, have been replaced by others more in line with the Latin urban music scene, like Daddy Yankee, Bad Bunny, Myke Towers, or Mora.
However, based on the latest clues from the Argentine DJ, everything seened to point to Milo himself being the featured artist in the next session. One of the mysterious images shows a figure very similar to the young artist, a suspicion that was further reinforced by circulating images on social media showing Bizarrap and Milo together in a vehicle traveling through what appears to be the same landscape as seen in previous teasers.
