Marc Anthony Gets His Star On the Hollywood Walk of Fame

The singer was joined by his children, Nadia Ferreira & his close friend, David Beckham

Marc Anthony was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, in recognition of his remarkable musical career spanning over three decades. He stands as one of the most influential figures in the salsa genre. 

This star marks the 2762nd addition to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. As he approaches his 55th birthday on September 16, the singer accepted the recognition, expressing gratitude to all those who have supported him throughout his life.

Emotionally touched, Anthony humbly received the star, seeing it as a symbol of his ongoing commitment to music. He commented, ‘In a strange way, I feel like I’ve only just begun, and this is just the beginning,’ reflecting his Puerto Rican heritage.

During the ceremony, Anthony was joined by his children and his wife, model Nadia Ferreira.

To his pleasant surprise, his friend and business partner, David Beckham, made an appearance and took the stage to share heartfelt words about their friendship.

David Beckham, also husband of Victoria Beckham, reminisced about their first meeting 20 years ago when he was playing for Real Madrid and admired Marc’s music.

Beckham emphasized that from that initial encounter, a special bond was formed, paving the way for a lasting friendship. He said, ‘On every level, Marc Anthony is a true star. You deserve all the love and respect you are receiving today,’ while also praising the singer’s unwavering passion and talent.

Born in New York in 1968, Marc Anthony began his career in the 1980s as a singer in bars and nightclubs. In 1993, he released his first solo album, Otra Nota. A year later, his salsa rendition of «Hasta que te conocí» by Mexican singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel became a chart-topping hit, catapulting him into international stardom. 

Throughout his musical journey, the artist has masterfully blended salsa, pop, and ballads, creating music in both English and Spanish. This versatility has established him as one of the foremost Latin performers of our time. 

Marc Anthony has achieved remarkable success, selling over 12 million records worldwide. He has received three Grammy Awards and six Latin Grammy Awards, frequently topping the top charts. In 2016, he was honored with the Latin Recording Academy’s Person of the Year award.

In recent recognition, Marc Anthony has been acclaimed as the third highest-grossing Latin artist in history, accumulating an impressive $315 million in revenue from 424 shows over the course of his illustrious career.
