Manuel Turizo recently shared some exciting news with Billboard. He’s set his sights on releasing a fresh studio album before the year’s end. This marks his second album of the year, following the March release of 2000. Despite his demanding tour schedule across the United States, Turizo has somehow found the time to immerse himself in creative projects.

The Colombian artist has been busy composing songs, producing music, and nurturing a new musical venture that explores various genres, consistently delivering chart-topping hits with a global appeal. Some of his notable successes include tracks like «La Bachata,» «El Merengue» (which includes some electronic elements) in collab with Marshmello, and even a regional Mexican single called «De Lunes a Lunes» featuring Grupo Frontera.

Turizo shared his approach to music, saying, “When I create, I like to try different things. I feel like each song brings something different. The numbers are nice, obviously, but there are songs that don’t necessarily give you that; instead, they help you reach another market and other people discover you. I realized that people also enjoyed it and connected with it. I realized that this was my identity —that is me and these are my true [musical] tastes. I perceived that people received my songs well when I changed genres. And for me, it’s important to continue doing it. I can’t stay in the same box… I have to continue experimenting.”

201

Turizo has revealed that his upcoming fourth album will be titled 201, a tribute to the floor number of the apartment he once lived in back in Montería, his hometown. This album promises to be a musical journey filled with various shades and styles. Turizo has also hinted at an exciting collaboration with Yandel, a track called «Mamasota.»

Reflecting on the significance of 201, Turizo explained, “201 represents all those dreams I had since I was a child, all those young desires. There is no career, no specialization that prepared me, that taught me about this industry. I learned all this on the street, on the road, and it has been a freaking cool dream. I have enjoyed my journey so much and I have lived this dream as I wanted.”
