Nerves, excitement, joy, smiles, and some tears of happiness. That’s the best summary of the LOS40 Music Awards Santander 2023 nominee dinner. Dozens of artists, celebrities, VIPs, influencers… gathered at the iconic Florida Retiro in Madrid (Spain) to find out who will be the top favorites at the biggest music celebration in for Latin and Spanish music in Europe. Aitana, Feid, and Manuel Turizo lead the nominations with their 6 nods, making them the ones to beat.

After a year in which Latin music has shone around the world, it’s only natural that Spanish-language music dominates the majority of nominations. In the Spain category, Aitana leads with the most nominations for the night. Her new musical adventure has earned her nominations for Best Artist, Best Album for «alpha,» Best Song for «Los Angeles,» Best Music Video for «Las Babys,» Best Collaboration for «Mi Amor» with Rels B, and Best Festival, Tour, or Concert for «Alpha Tour.»

Aitana’s «Alpha» project won’t have an easy path to success at the LOS40 Music Awards Santander 2023 because there are many artists who have made us enjoy and appreciate their music this year and deserve recognition. In her category, Lola Índigo (5), Ana Mena, and Quevedo (4) could also become big winners of the night.

The Latin Music Throne, Highly Contested

In Spain, the awards will be fiercely competitive, and the Global Latin category is no different. Feid and Manuel Turizo have managed to match Aitana’s number of nominations. Both Colombians have 6 nominations.

From Medellín, Ferxxo is nominated for Best Album with «Feliz Cumpleaños Ferxxo… Te Pirateamos el Álbum,» Best Urban Artist/Producer, Best Tour with «Ferxxo Nitro World Jam Tour,» Best Collaboration with «Classy 101» featuring Young Miko, and «Hey Mor» alongside Ozuna, and Best Urban Song with «Classy 101.»

Meanwhile, the artist from Montería (TRZ) is nominated for Best Latin Artist or Group, Best Album with «2000,» Best Latin Song, Best Music Video with «El Merengue,» Best Latin Collaboration with «Vagabundo» alongside Sebastián Yatra and Beéle, and Best Festival, Tour, or Concert with «2000 Tour.»Their success depends on competing with other prominent names in Latin music who have also triumphed in the list of nominations. Myke Towers, Ozuna, and Karol G have up to 5 nods each, and if the star power isn’t enough, Bizarrap, Duki, and Shakira are also lurking with 4 nominations each.
