Amid heatwave after heatwave, there’s not much we can do to help you combat the high temperatures, but we can gather some of the freshest news of the week. This Friday, July 7, new music is being released by Rauw Alejandro, Justin Quiles, Bad Gyal alongside Myke Towers (in a collaboration we exclusively told you about on LOS40 Urban), the latest from British artists like Sam Smith, Anne Marie, and more.

Rauw Alejandro – Si te pegas

The Puerto Rican artist is releasing his album Playa Saturno this weekend, a work with sensual melodies and a lot, and I mean a lot, of perreo to fully enjoy the summer. In ‘Si te pegas,’ the artist shows us that he’s an ace at creating rounded songs. The track has an incredible vibe and a rhythm that’s hard to forget, with playful lyrics resting on it. For this song, Rauw teams up with Spanish artist Miguel Bosé, although his appearance in the track is minor. Otherwise, it’s a cool production that will keep you occupied all night.

Taylor Swift – I Can See You (From The Vault)

Taylor Swift is releasing her album ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ this weekend, featuring 22 songs including 6 unreleased tracks. One of them is this song, one of the highlights of this work, although it couldn’t be considered a single.

Bad Gyal & Myke Towers – Mi Lova

This song, which Myke Towers already talked about on LOS40 Urban, is a track that serves as a preview of Bad Gyal’s debut album. It’s a slow and romantic reggaeton that addresses desire, attraction and sex between two lovers. It’s a song that the artist has already performed live, but it wasn’t known that it would be with the Puerto Rican star. The music video was filmed in April 2023 in Las Vegas during the Latin American Music Awards week, taking advantage of both artists attending the gala. The video includes references to the 90s and the distinct aesthetic of the city of casinos.

Nicky Jam, Maluma & The Chainsmokers – Celular

Latin and urban rhythms come together in this song that aims to sweep the dance floors this summer. Two Latin music titans like Nicky Jam and Maluma join forces with New York DJs and producers The Chainsmokers to create a catchy, explosive, and vibrant track.

C. Tangana – Oliveira Dos Cen Anos

C. Tangana creates the new anthem for the Centennial of the Spanish Real Club Celta de Vigo, a love letter composed and produced by the artist from Madrid with the help of some of his usual collaborators: pablopablo, Alizzz, and Harto Rodríguez, dedicated to his lifelong team.

Justin Quiles & El Alfa – Fiesta loca

If you like perreo and explicit songs, you’re going to dance to this one until dawn this summer. In it, Quiles and El Alfa rely on a very powerful melody to surrender to the night and alcohol.

Quevedo – Columbia

The Canary Islands artist once again immerses himself in pop melodies in ‘Columbia,’ a song full of verses worth staying for. In this track, Quevedo sings about that vibrant summer love and does so with some of his most well-crafted lyrics. Everything points to a summer hit.

Sam Smith, Jessie Reyez & Cat Burns – Perfect

Sam Smith always manages to surprise and give a new twist to their project, which is unclassifiable and constantly evolving. This time, they release a new version of ‘Perfect,’ a song included in his album Gloria released earlier this year. The song featuring Jessie Reyez and Cat Burns is part of the «Coke Studio Coca Cola» program.

Anne Marie – Trainwreck

British artist Anne-Marie, the creator of hits like ‘Friends’ and ‘Ciao Adiós,’ has a new single titled ‘Trainwreck.’ This song will be included in her third and upcoming album, Unhealthy, which will be released on July 28. In ‘Trainwreck,’ Anne Marie writes about rediscovering happiness after going through a toxic and unpleasant relationship, so the song works as a sort of therapy.

Mau and Ricky & Jay Wheeler – No es normal

The Venezuelan duo joins forces with the Puerto Rican artist to deliver a song that addresses the desire to be with someone without wanting a conventional relationship with that person. By the way, this song exists thanks to J Balvin, who, although not directly involved in it, introduced Jay to the Montaner brothers. The connection that was formed between them has been definitively sealed in this track.
