Goodbye Twitter, Hello ‘X’

Elon Musk has started the process of changing Twitter identity, probably as a result of the success of Mark Zuckerberg’s Threads

Elon Musk revealed that X will be his new Twitter, marking a change in his online image. The announcement was made through the South African tycoon’s social media accounts. Let’s not forget that recently Mark Zuckerberg launched his own social media Threads,  very much like ‘Twitter’, which in the first days reached more than 100 million users, meaning a hard blow to the soon extinct Twitter.

Soon we will say goodbye to the Twitter brand and all the birds»Elon tweeted, who already shows the X logo on his profile image.

During a Twitter Spaces Musk stated, ‘We are cutting the Twitter logo from the corporate building’. Additionally, The Verge reported that Elon Musk sent an email to Twitter employees on Sunday night, officially notifying them of the company’s name change to X and informing them about the upcoming alteration to their email domain.

With these changes, Twitter will launch, so to speak, a new company name and this was revealed by Linda Yaccarino, former president of advertising sales for NBCUniversal and who now serves as CEO at X Corp, through a couple of tweets.

X is the future state of unlimited interactivity, focused on audio, video, messaging, payment/banking, creating a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services and opportunities. Powered by artificial intelligence, X will connect us all in ways we have only just begun to imagine”said the executive–. “For years, fans and critics alike have pushed Twitter to dream bigger, innovate faster, and reach our great potential. X will do that and more. We’ve already started to see X take shape in the last 8 months through our rapid feature releases, but we’re just getting started».

This move represents a major shift in the company’s identity and branding under Musk’s leadership, probably as a result Mark Zuckerberg’s Threads.
