Social media fights are unpleasant for everyone, but even more so when they involve one of your idols. In this case, Doja Cat has found herself in a dispute with her fan base, and they responded by mass-unfollowing her.

It all started when one of her followers wrote the following: «I wanna hear you say (I do love you guys) As usual you say to your fans.» To which Doja, without much hesitation, replied, «I don’t though cuz I don’t even know y’all.»

The tone of the exchange escalated when another fan reminded her that they didn’t know her either, but they had always supported her and that «she wouldn’t be anything without them.» In a burst of attitude, Doja replied firmly to the message that sparked the controversy:

“Nobody forces you. I don’t know why you’re talking to me like you’re my mother, b*tch. You sound like a crazy person,” she wrote on her Threads profile.

In this sense, the artist seemed to be upset because her fandom had supposedly given themselves the name «Kettenz» without her consent. Doja posted some tweets about this issue, which she later deleted, according to Page Six

«My fans don’t get to name themselves s**t. If you call yourself a ‘Kitten’ or f****g ‘Kittenz,’ that means you need to get off your phone and get a job and help your parents with the house.»

Numerous users reacted to this behavior from the famous singer, including singer Charli XCX.

Moreover, after the fight, several fan pages are even deactivating their social media profiles.

Polemic Argument with Noah Schapp

This is not the first time Doja Cat has been involved in a similar scandal. A year ago, the artist also lost over 200k fans after another online confrontation with Stranger Things’ Noah Schapp when she asked him if his co-star Joseph Quinn (Eddie Munson) had a girlfriend and how to slide into his DMs. The singer received backlash from fans for «going after a teenager.»

We know that viral controversies are unpleasant for everyone, and we hope that everybody can move past this situation as soon as possible.
