Beyoncé Announces ‘Renaissance World Tour’ Documentary

This film will pay tribute to one of the most successful tours in recent memory

Beyoncé wrapped up her Renaissance World Tour on October 1st in Kansas. If you missed out on her live shows, don’t worry because, just like Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour Film, you’ll soon have the opportunity to see her on the big screen.

Queen B is joining the documentary trend and has announced that a feature film is in the works, set to hit theaters soon. This film will pay tribute to one of the most successful tours in recent memory. It’s interesting to note that this isn’t Beyoncé’s first venture into documentaries; she previously presented ‘Homecoming’ on Netflix in 2018, which provided a deep dive into her iconic performance at the Coachella festival that same year.

Beyoncé herself shared the exciting news through her social media channels, giving us a glimpse of the pop diva’s behind-the-scenes preparations before gracing the stage. Fans were thrilled to learn that starting from December 1st, we’ll get the chance to catch her on the big screen. The documentary is expected to run for an estimated two and a half hours and is directed by Nadia Lee Cohen.

     Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé’ accentuates the journey of RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR, from its inception to the opening in Stockholm, Sweden, to the finale in Kansas City, Missouri. It is about Beyoncé’s intention, hard work, involvement in every aspect of the production, her creative mind and purpose to create her legacy, and master her craft. Received with extraordinary acclaim, Beyoncé’s RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR created a sanctuary for freedom, and shared joy, for more than 2.7 million fans”reads the description of the trailer on YouTube.

Even before its debut, this documentary has already sparked some controversy. Following the announcement that the film would be screened in cinemas across the United States, Mexico, and Canada, ticket prices have come under scrutiny, with some fans expressing concerns about affordability. Images circulating on social media platforms reveal ticket prices set at $19.89 (plus tax) per person.

Renaissance Tour: The Most Successful Tour in History 

During this tour, Beyoncé achieved something truly remarkable she became the world’s most successful female artist. From early May to late September, she traveled all around the world and put on an amazing 41 concerts in 12 different countries. This incredible achievement also meant that she raised over 461 million dollars, surpassing Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet Tour, which made 410 million dollars in 2008.

In her recent Renaissance World Tour, the famous «Single Ladies» singer performed songs from her seventh studio album, which shares the tour’s name and was released on July 29, 2022. On top of that, she treated her fans to some of her biggest hits, like «Crazy in Love» and «Say My Name,» the latter of which she sang with Destiny’s Child.

Beyoncé went the extra mile to make special memories for her fans. She had her daughter, Blue Ivy, show off her dancing skills at one of the London shows, and she even surprised everyone with a live performance alongside Megan Thee Stallion in Houston. Together, they sang their chart-topping hit, «Savage Remix,» live for the very first time.
