Bad Bunny’s ‘Where She Goes’ Climbs to the Top in Lista Los40 USA

Bad Bunny makes a big entrance in Lista Los40 USA with his first English-titled song and music video, the Jersey club cut ‘Where She Goes’ after going public with Kendall Jenner. 

Here, the Puerto Rican turns into a frontiersman, rocking a cool cowboy vibe in the Stillz-directed music video and riding around through the California desert in a vintage Rolls-Royce. Somehow Jenner seems to be present when an angel appears in the middle of the desert, dressed in lingerie and huge shiny wings, a reference her role as a Victoria’s Secret Angel.

With his latest release, the Puerto Rican soars leaps directly to the #3 position in Lista Los40 USA but he even got the no. 2 with his chart-topping collab ‘1x100to’ featuring Grupo Frontera. 

Benito isn’t the only top artist adding a new hit this week. Yng Lucas & Justin Quiles’ ‘Wazap’ debuts in the chart reaching the #32 spot. Here, both artists flow to the style of Mexican reggaeton that Yng Lucas has recently positioned at the top of the charts with ‘La Bebé – Remix’.

Peso Pluma & Eslabón Armado’s ‘Ella Baila Sola’ Holds the Top Spot 

The viral regional Mexican anthem ‘Ella Baila Sola’ keeps sweeping the Lista Los40 USA for several weeks in a row. The romantic sierreño track transports us to a party where two compas spot a beautiful girl in the ball. The Doble P and Pedro Tovar trade verses about conquering her. «No soy un vato que tiene varo Pero hablando del corazón te cumplo todo / Me agarro, pegadito dе su mano / Mi compa ni se la creyó, que al pasar fui yo«, they sang over a lovely melody created by a lead guitar, a trombone, chachetas (a tenor horn) and a tololoche (a double bass).

Peso Pluma has become one of the great music phenomenons of 2023. He has recently joined the Argentine top producer Bizarrap in the BZRP Music Session #55, the first one to be featured by a regional Mexican artist. The Doble P is now a central referent of the rising subgenre ‘corridos tumbados’, a variant of traditional Mexican corridos that was firstly popularized by Natanael Cano. They and other artists like Junior H and Fuerza Regida are taking Mexican music to another level in the U.S., but also all over the world.
