What has caught attention regarding the cancellation of Peso Pluma’s upcoming concerts in Latin America is that the Mexican will be replaced by the Argentine rapper Trueno at the significant Viña del Mar 2024 festival in Chile. The Buenos Aires-born artist is known for his career in Latin hip-hop, but he has also been in the spotlight recently due to his past relationship with Nicki Nicole, who is also Peso Pluma’s ex-partner.

Nicki and Trueno had an intense romantic relationship showcased to the world through their magical collaboration on ‘Mamichula,’ also produced by Bizarrap. For nearly two years, they were one of the most prominent couples in the Latin trap and rap scene, but they ended their relationship in early 2023, not on the best terms, as both stopped following each other on social media. Nicki has even suggested that her latest album ‘ALMA’ (2023), nominated for a Latin Grammy, is the result of inspiration and challenging moments stemming from that same breakup.

«I think when we experience a romantic loss, we feel insecure. I also believe it’s part of the grieving process, which is why music served as a catharsis and a way to heal in each song on ‘ALMA,'» she said, clearly referring to the end of her relationship with Trueno.
