Rosalía's LUX Tour has built a cult following around one recurring bit: the "confessional" or confesionario a segment where a celebrity guest sits across from her and dishes about a "perla" — Rosalía's now-viral term for an ex who behaved badly.

On June 29, at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, the special guest was Karol G, and within hours the internet had turned into a detective agency trying to figure out exactly who she was talking about.

Before this, most people assumed Karol G and Rosalía's relationship was frosty at best — years of rumored rivalry had shaped that narrative. The two artists casually proved otherwise by sharing the stage like old friends.

What Karol Actually Said

The story Karol shared was specific: an ex who, year after year, found a reason not to celebrate her birthday with her.

“I’m going to confess something to you. I was in a relationship where that person didn’t like celebrating their birthday with me. And that always seemed strange to me, because who wouldn’t want to spend that day with the person they’re with?” said the Medellín artist, while Rosalía looked stunned.

“The most shocking moment was that, in the last year” (the ‘fourth year,’ Karol emphasized), “we already had everything planned to travel and celebrate somewhere else in the world, but in the end it didn’t happen. That made me realize even more how it had become a pattern of lack of consideration,” the artist explained.

Rosalía didn't hold back her reaction, immediately branding the unnamed ex a "perla" (a Spanish popular term used for jerk) and turning the moment into a celebration of Karol moving on.

"Today we’re going to celebrate more and better than any birthday because you got rid of that damn perla,” Rosalía responded emphatically.

Feid and Anuel AA, Two Names, Two timelines

Online theories have mostly landed on two candidates: Feid and Anuel AA, both of whom dated Karol G during very public chapters of her career.

The math points more toward Feid. He and Karol were together for roughly four years, matching the timeframe Karol referenced, and their split happened in 2025.

Spanish music journalist Alberto Palao has pointed out that the breakup occurred close to Feid's own birthday, and that he subsequently traveled to Japan — a detail some fans think echoes Karol's mention of a canceled trip "to the other side of the world."

Anuel AA is the other obvious guess, partly because of his track record of public friction with both Karol and Feid since their split. But the timeline is shakier: Karol and Anuel's relationship lasted about three years (2018 to 2021), not four, and their breakup reportedly happened in March — nowhere near Anuel's November birthday.

There's a third possibility too: Karol could be referencing someone from before she became a global name, someone the public never connected her to at all.

Nothing here is confirmed, and Karol hasn't named anyone directly — which is, by design, the entire appeal of Rosalía's confessional segment.

But the timing keeps the story alive: Karol G is about to launch her own Tropitour in the U.S. this July, while Rosalía continues across the country before heading to Latin America. Rosalía wraps her North American dates July 6 in Oakland, and she's expected back in the U.S. in September for the Miami shows she had to postpone due to a family emergency.
