Barcelona once again becomes the global capital of live music as Primavera Sound 2026 takes over the city. Held at the Parc del Fòrum, the festival brings together some of the biggest names in pop, hip-hop, electronic, and indie music, alongside emerging artists shaping the future of the industry.
This year’s lineup is an eagerly awaited mix of indie rock, post-punk, alternative pop, electronic music, hip-hop, reggaeton, folk, and experimental sounds: from The Cure to The xx, Doja Cat, Addison Rae, Gorillaz, Geese, Skrillex, Ethel Cain, Bad Gyal, rusowsky, Mac DeMarco, among others.
But beyond the music, one essential part of the experience remains constant: getting to Parc del Fòrum efficiently and avoiding the crowd drama.

How to Get to the Parc del Fòrum
The festival takes place at the Parc del Fòrum, a large waterfront venue located in the northeastern part of Barcelona. Designed for major events and festivals, it is well connected by public transport, especially metro Line 4 (the yellow one), which becomes the main artery during festival days.
From Barcelona Airport (El Prat): The International Arrival Route
Metro (budget option)
- Take L9 Sud from either Terminal 1 or Terminal 2
- Transfer to L4 (yellow line)
- Exit at El Maresme | Fòrum
This is the most economical option, though it requires at least one transfer and a longer travel time.
Aerobús + Metro (most intuitive for first-time visitors)
- Take Aerobús to Plaça Catalunya
- Switch to Metro L4 (yellow line) toward La Pau
- Get off at El Maresme | Fòrum
This is the simplest and most commonly used route for international festivalgoers staying in central Barcelona.
Taxi or rideshare
- Travel time: 25–40 minutes depending on traffic
- Typical fare: €35–€45
Ideal for late arrivals or those carrying luggage.
From Barcelona Sants Station: The National Rail Hub
The main railway station, Barcelona Sants, connects Barcelona with Madrid, Valencia, France, and other major European destinations.
Recommended metro route
- Take L3 (green line) from Sants Estació
- Transfer at Passeig de Gràcia to L4 (yellow line)
- Exit at El Maresme | Fòrum
Total travel time: approximately 25–35 minutes.
From the City Center: Plaça Catalunya, Gothic Quarter, Eixample
- Direct metro route (standard festival path)
- Take L4 (yellow line) toward Trinitat Nova
- Exit at El Maresme | Fòrum
- Travel time: 15–20 minutes from central Barcelona.
From Barceloneta and the Beach Areas
Barcelona’s coastal layout makes access particularly easy from beach neighborhoods.
- From Barceloneta
- Take L4 directly to El Maresme | Fòrum
- Travel time: 10–15 minutes
From Poblenou or Glòries
- Tram or bus (H16, V31, and others)
- Travel time: 5–10 minutes
- This is one of the shortest and most convenient approaches to the festival grounds.
Night Transport: The Post-Show Rush
When the final sets end, the entire city shifts into festival transit mode.
- Reinforced Metro L4 service
- Night buses (NitBus network)
- Special shuttle buses to Plaça Catalunya and Urquinaona
A key tip: leaving immediately after the final performance usually means long queues. Waiting 20–30 minutes often results in a significantly smoother return journey.
All routes converge at El Maresme | Fòrum (L4), followed by a short five-minute walk to the festival entrance at Parc del Fòrum. During Primavera Sound, signage and staff make navigation straightforward, but large crowds should be expected at peak hours.
