Berghain is one of Rosalía’s most talked‑about songs from her history‑making album LUX (2025). The most operatic track on the album also has a rave remix by Conrad Taylor, but fans still wonder what the title and its lyrics really mean.

Berghain is a name Rosalía first introduced through her Substack account. Before releasing her highly anticipated studio project, the Catalan artist uploaded a scanned, handwritten sheet of music, prompting many of her followers to interpret it—giving us an early glimpse of what the track might sound like. The single features Björk and Yves Tumor.

“Berghain” is also the name of one of the world’s most renowned techno clubs, based in Berlin. It’s located in a former power plant between the Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain neighborhoods, and its name is literally an acronym formed from the two. Since its opening in 2004, it has become a global temple of electronic music, and everything that happens inside can only be explained by those who have experienced it.

What Does Rosalía Mean by 'Berghain'?

The theories surrounding Berghain as part of LUX align with the general theories around the album meaning. LUX literally means “light” in Latin—the complete opposite of what a techno club with one of the darkest atmospheres intends to embody.

“ROSALÍA explores themes of feminine mysticism, transformation, and spirituality—tracing the arc between illusion and loss, faith and individuality,” her team wrote on her official website. That’s why the concept of Berghain is currently understood as an example of the duality present throughout LUX: the classical meets the modern, light meets darkness.

What Is the Meaning of the Lyrics to Berghain?

On October 25, the artist uploaded a short verse to Substack that seems to be part of Berghain, as it is also in German. It reads: “Seine Angst ist meine Angst, Seine Wut ist meine Wut, Seine Liebe ist meine Liebe, Sein Blut ist mein Blut,” which translates to “His fear is my fear, his rage is my rage, his love is my love, his blood is my blood.”

Looking at the complete lyrics—already published on platforms like Genius—we see that Rosalía sings in German, Spanish, and English.

In Berghain, Rosalía explores themes such as desire, vulnerability, and transcendental passion in their most spiritual dimension. Below are the lyrics in English.

Rosalía’s Berghain: Full English Lyrics and Translation

His fear is my fear

His anger is my anger

His love is my love

His blood is my blood

The flame penetrates my brain

Like a lead teddy bear

I keep many things in my heart

That’s why my heart is so heavy

His fear is my fear

His anger is my anger

His love is my love

His blood is my blood

I know very well who I am

Sweetness for the coffee

I’m just a sugar cube

I know the heat melts me

I know how to disappear

When you come, that’s when I go

His fear is my fear

His anger is my anger

His love is my love (this is divine intervention)

His blood is my blood

The only way to save us is through divine

Intervention

The only way I will be saved is through divine

Intervention

I'll fuck you till you love me

I'll fuck you till you love me

I'll fuck you till you love me

Till you love me

Till you love me

Till you love me

Till you love me

Till you love me

Love me

Till you

Till you love me

I'll fuck you till you love me

I'll fuck you till you love me

Love me

Love me

Love me

Love me
