Jennifer Runyon, the actress best known for her role as a student in the iconic scene alongside Bill Murray and Steven Tash in Ghostbusters (1984), passed away on March 6, 2026, at the age of 65. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on April 1, 1960, Runyon left a memorable mark on film and television throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
Her friend Erin Murphy shared the news on Facebook, revealing that Runyon had lost her life after a brief battle with cancer. Murphy wrote:
"So sad to share that my friend Jennifer Runyon Corman has passed away after a brief battle with cancer. 💔 Some people you just know you’ll be friends with before you even meet. She was a special lady. I’ll miss you Jenn. My thoughts are with your family and beautiful children."

Jennifer Runyon began her career in television and film in the 1980s, starring in shows like Charles in Charge (1984) and playing Cindy Brady in A Very Brady Christmas. She also appeared in films such as Up the Creek and guest-starred on series including The Fall Guy, Boone, The Master, Quantum Leap, Murder, She Wrote, A Man Called Sarge, and Beverly Hills, 90210.
