Shakira has teamed up once again with Colombian singer Beéle for their vibrant new single, “Algo Tú.”

The song was performed live for the first time on March 1 at the iconic Zócalo in Mexico City, captivating an audience of over 400,000 people.

Produced by A.C., Flambo, Shakira, and Beéle, and released under Sony Music Latin and 5020 Records, “Algo Tú” blends Latin rhythms with Afrobeats, creating a fresh and infectious sound. Traditional Colombian instruments, including the gaita, give the track an unmistakable connection to Shakira’s Caribbean heritage and the landscapes of Barranquilla.

This marks the second collaboration between the two artists, following their 2025 reimagined version of “Hips Don’t Lie” alongside Ed Sheeran.

'Algo Tú' Meaning

The title literally means “Something About You”, referring to that unexplainable spark or quality someone has that draws you in.

The lyrics capture chemistry, freedom, and the joy of being together without worrying about the future:“I want to live something new with you / Without thinking about where you’ll take me / I’m not afraid of heights / Because when you hold me, you always lift me to the sky.”

The song paints a picture of romantic adventures—driving down the road, enjoying life’s little moments, and dreaming about a future together. At the same time, it celebrates Shakira’s Colombian roots, with references to the Tayrona coast and the Magdalena River, evoking a sense of home and cultural pride.

A recurring phrase, “Que fluya” (“Let it flow”), emphasizes the song’s carefree energy. Whether dancing, singing, or simply enjoying life together, “Algo Tú” encourages listeners to embrace joy, love, and living in the moment. With its catchy beat, heartfelt lyrics, and cultural richness, it’s another standout in Shakira’s legendary career, bringing a vibrant piece of Colombia to the world.S

Shakira and Beéle's 'Algo Tú': Lyrics in English

I want to live something new with you (Yeah)

Without thinking about where you’ll take me (Mmm)

I’m not afraid of heights

Because when you hold me, you always lift me to the sky

You’ve got something, you, you’ve got something, you

You cause a stir whenever you say something

Something about you, a tiki tiki, something about you

She’s causing a stir, just like you dance

Oh, so what, oh, so what

Eh, so what, so what

We’re two eyes of the same dream

We’re two branches of the same tree

We’re driving down the road, nothing in the trunk (¡Wuh-wuh-wuh-wuh-wuh!)

And wherever life takes us

All the beautiful things stay, stay close to the heart

And what doesn’t work is gone, gone, gone, aye

Oh, we’re foam from the same wave

A wave from the same shore

A shore like those in Tayrona

I’ll build you a house in the sky

Next to Escalona’s place

Like the Magdalena River flows

I want to rest in your mouth

If we have something to say, we say it singing

And if we have to cry, then we do it drinking

You and I are the joy and the caller

We’re two “ay, ombe” in a vallenato

Let it flow

The river overflows

Let it flow

The tide rises

Let it flow

Let it flow

And if they criticize me

Let it flow

I don’t even care

Let it flow

I never interfere

Let it flow

In other people’s lives

Let it flow

We’re driving down the road, nothing in the trunk (¡Wuh-wuh-wuh-wuh-wuh!)

And wherever life takes us

All the beautiful things stay, stay close to the heart

And what doesn’t work is gone, gone, gone (Aye)

Oh, no

¡Aye!

You are such a cutie, bombón

You are such a cutie, bombón (¡Ayo!)

You are such a cutie, bombón

You are such a cutie, bombón

And if they criticize me

Let it flow

I don’t even care

Let it flow

I never interfere

Let it flow

In other people’s lives

Let it flow

Let it flow

Let it flow

Let it flow

Let it flow
