Sometimes, when fans ask for something, it actually happens. And right now, Sabrina Carpenter is having a major moment in her career. She dominated 2024 with some of the year’s biggest hits, and 2025 is shaping up to be just as exciting. She recently won at the BRIT Awards, and her Short n’ Sweet tour is in full swing. But beyond music, it’s important to remember that Sabrina first rose to fame as an actress, and she’s just as talented on screen as she is on stage.
That’s why fans are eager to see her take on new acting roles, including a potential live-action Rapunzel, a character many believe she’s perfect for. But there’s another role that could combine her singing and acting skills—a part in Mamma Mia 3.

Since the release of Mamma Mia 2 in 2018, fans have been waiting for a third film, and it seems like it could actually happen. Recently, Christine Baranski, who plays Tanya, met with Judy Kramer, the producer behind the first two movies, to talk about the possibility of another sequel.
“I was in London with Judy Kramer at our favorite watering hole, she is planning Mamma Mia 3. She gave me the narrative plotline of how it’s going to happen. That’s all I can say! But, it’s not like, ‘Oh, I wish it could happen!’ Judy Kramer makes things happen,” Baranski said.
Now, she’s brought up the idea again, this time on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. When Fallon asked her directly about the rumors.

Right now, Mamma Mia 3 is still in early pre-production, and not much has been confirmed yet. But the good news is that with the project still in development, there’s a real chance Sabrina Carpenter could join the cast.
