Cuban-American actor William Levy, 44, was arrested by authorities in Broward County, Florida. He was later taken to the county’s main jail in Fort Lauderdale, about 45 kilometers north of Miami. According to the Broward County prison system, the arrest took place in the nearby town of Weston.
Levy faced two charges: one for being intoxicated and causing a public disturbance, and another for allegedly trespassing on private property. A photo of the arrest has been released, showing the actor looking disheveled compared to his usual appearance.
According to El Universal, Florida laws state that public disorder while intoxicated can result in a sentence of up to 60 days in jail, while trespassing could lead to up to a year in prison. Both charges are considered misdemeanors. So far, neither Levy nor his representatives have made any public statements about the arrest.

According to witness statements, the disturbance that led to the actor’s arrest started at the Baires Grill restaurant. As reported by People en Español, Levy was dining with friends when the bill arrived. He felt the amount was too high and began arguing with the staff. When asked to leave, William stepped out of the restaurant, leaving his phone on the table. When he returned and left again, the police were already waiting for him.
Journalist Mandy Fridmann reported that Levy allegedly resisted arrest: “According to people who were present at the time of the arrest, William resisted, and the police had to forcefully handcuff him”. Finally, during the hearing, which was streamed live on journalist Javier Ceriani’s YouTube channel, Levy paid $250 to be released.

This latest incident is not the first time Levy has found himself in trouble with the law. It follows a series of previous issues related to domestic conflicts with his ex-partner, actress Elizabeth Gutiérrez. According to several reports, one of these incidents took place in October 2023, when Levy allegedly arrived home intoxicated. Elizabeth confronted him about his drinking, and the argument escalated into shouting, though no physical confrontation was reported.
Another incident, reported by Infobae, occurred on March 2, 2024, when Gutiérrez claimed that Levy pushed their 14-year-old daughter, Kailey, during a dispute. The argument reportedly started when Kailey tried to enter her father’s bedroom after hearing a woman’s voice.
According to People en Español, Levy described the situation as follows: “After being away for a month and a half, Elizabeth, Kailey, and the cousins came to the house saying I had a woman inside. They broke down the door to see if someone was there. If I had been with someone, I was living alone. It’s my house, I was alone. Kailey broke the door down, and I didn’t know what was going on. I didn’t push her; I just put my hand up to stop her from coming in,” Levy explained, adding that he didn’t hear when his daughter knocked on the door.
