Celebrity hairdresser Miguel Ángel de la Mora, known as ‘Micky Hair,’ was killed outside his salon on Monday night, September 29, 2025, in Polanco, Mexico City. He was 28. Over the years, he became a sought-after stylist for celebrities, influencers, and beauty queens. His clients included Ángela Aguilar, Kenia Os, Belinda, María Fernanda Beltrán (Miss Universe Mexico 2024), and many more.
Micky Hair was originally from Zapopan, Jalisco, but built his career in Mexico City. He also grew a strong social media presence with more than 180,000 followers, regularly showcasing his work, giveaways, and collaborations.
His salons were known for being upscale and exclusive, with particularly high prices for Brazilian hair extensions and other premium treatments. Reports suggest a single Brazilian extension session could cost around 100,000 Mexican pesos (more than 5,000 dollars)—or more, depending on the package.

In recent times, he had publicly claimed to have received threats and even filed complaints for fraud and threats. So: he wasn’t just “another stylist”—he was building a brand, had high visibility, and was operating in a competitive, high stakes space.
Reports indicate the incident took place on Monday night, September 29, 2025, in Polanco—one of the most expensive areas in Mexico City—at his salon, Micky’s Hair Salón Masaryk. According to Merca 20, around 11:00 p.m. two people on a motorcycle pulled up outside the salon. One of them got off, approached Miguel de la Mora, and shot him at close range.
Mexico City authorities confirmed they are reviewing surveillance footage, gathering evidence, and working to identify the attackers. Local officials have emphasized it was a targeted attack, not a random crime. The mayor of the Miguel Hidalgo borough even confirmed that early findings rule out robbery as a motive. So far, no arrests have been announced.

In short: we know who the victim was, when and where it happened, and that it’s being investigated as an execution-style killing. What remains unclear is the “why”—the motives and the people behind it.
Before his death, Miguel had already reported receiving threats and being involved in fraud cases. He had even filed a formal criminal complaint against a man named Eduardo Ederly González Martínez, accusing him of threats and fraud. A restraining order had been issued to keep that person away from Miguel and his family.
Money also seems to have been a possible factor. Miguel’s services were extremely expensive, with contracts, high-profile clients, and large sums of money involved. Any dispute over payments or deals could easily have turned into a serious conflict.
Ángela Aguilar has openly shared her grief over the loss, describing Micky not only as her stylist but also as a close friend and creative partner. The news hit her hard, and she’s joined by fans, fellow celebrities, and media voices who have expressed their condolences.
