Nick Reiner, son of renowned actor and director Rob Reiner and producer Michele Singer Reiner, is back in the headlines following the tragic murder of his parents at their Brentwood residence in Los Angeles.

The crime, which occurred on December 14, 2025, is being investigated by the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division, which has classified it as a homicide.

Although authorities have not officially confirmed any arrests, various media outlets report that Nick is being questioned as the main suspect, though no formal charges have been filed at this time.

Born in 1993, Nick Reiner grew up in a family closely tied to film and television. His father, Rob Reiner, is known for starring in iconic films such as Stand by Me (1986), The Princess Bride (1987), and When Harry Met Sally… (1989). Nick followed in his father’s creative footsteps, collaborating as a screenwriter on the film Being Charlie (2015), directed by Rob. The movie, which addressed the struggle with addiction, was inspired by Nick’s own experience, as he faced problems with drug and alcohol use starting at age 15.

His personal life has been marked by difficult episodes. After multiple stays in rehabilitation centers, Nick ended up living on the streets between the ages of 19 and 22, traveling through various U.S. states such as Maine, New Jersey, and Texas. These experiences, which he himself shared in interviews, reflect a story of constant struggle with dependency and the search for stability.

That trajectory is now being examined under a darker light. The violent deaths of Rob and Michele Reiner have shocked the film industry and the public as the police investigation continues. Although Nick has not been formally charged, his name appears in reports as a person of interest. The case remains open, and authorities do not rule out new revelations in the coming days.
