Kanye West is not a man who can be said to be in his right mind. His erratic behaviors suggest that something is not right in his head, although many want to justify it by claiming that everything he does is a calculated marketing campaign. But no, there are limits that publicity cannot surpass, and he has crossed them.
This has cost him his relationship with his wife, Bianca Censori, who could no longer tolerate his erratic behavior. Let’s not forget the numerous racist and homophobic comments he has shared recently, nor the reference to Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s children. Just when we thought he could not outdo himself, he did. He comes in and out of the platform X depending on the controversies he faces.
The fact is that it is there he shared a new song called ‘Cousins,’ which has generated a lot of controversy due to the story he tells about it, which he claims is based on real events.
«This song is called COUSINS about my cousin that’s locked in jail for life for killing a pregnant lady a few years after I told him we wouldn’t ‘look at dirty magazines together’ anymore,» he revealed about the song’s protagonist and his personal story. But it doesn’t stop there; he did not hesitate to claim that he feels somewhat guilty for what his cousin did because of what they shared as mere children.
«Perhaps in my self centered mess I felt it was my fault that I showed him those dirty magazines when he was 6 and then we acted out what we saw. My dad had playboy magazines but the magazines I found in the top of my moms closet were different. My name is Ye and I sucked my cousins d*ck till I was 14.»
His cousin was five years younger than him, and it seems this incestuous relationship took a toll. This is not the first time he has spoken about these events, but it is the first time he has done so in such a definitive manner. One only has to listen to the song to realize the troubled childhood they had
“Hanging out with my cousin reading dirty magazines, we saw some black people kissing, and we didn’t know what that shit meant. Then we started to recreate everything we had seen,” we hear in the lyrics of this video filled with disjointed and homemade images that mix violence and sex.
Kanye has not yet revealed more information about the cousin he refers to in ‘Cousins’. Not much is known about his family either. His mother was Donda West, an English professor whom he portrays in his album Donda, and his father is Ray West, a former Black Panther who later became a church counselor. Kanye is an only child, but has half-siblings from his father’s later relationships, although he is not publicly connected to them.
His known cousins include Ricky Anderson, a music executive, and Jalil Peraza, a producer who has also worked with Kanye, as well as his other cousin Jalil Peraza,. However, it remains unclear who the chilling experience described by the artist could be referring to.
As expected, once again, Kanye hasn’t missed the opportunity to stir controversy involving his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, and their children, insinuating that the Kardashians themselves subject them to the same kind of sexualization he experienced in his own youth.
«I need a plan to exercise my rights with my kids I figured out a lot of things but I haven’t figured this out. The day Kobe died we all went to Kylie’s house and they in a stand next to the couch in the front living room were vintage Playboy magazine strategically placed with in arms reach of every child in that house which was every half black baby. Yall know what that is. Why that is. And who is behind that The Cousin song triggers that memory. Me as a dad I wanted to change that for my kids,» he wrote on X.
