Becky G is no stranger to global stages, but this winter she’s inviting fans somewhere far more personal: into her life before the fame.

Her new documentary, REBBECA, named after her given name, isn’t a glossy behind-the-scenes project—it’s a deeply personal look at the woman behind the music, shaped by memories, cultural roots, and the challenges that defined her early years.

The film follows Becky as she reconnects with her family history and reflects on the emotional moments that pushed her to create the public persona “Becky G.”

In a recent interview with Variety, she shared that this alter ego became a form of protection during difficult moments, a version of herself strong enough to help her move forward.

How She Changed the Sound of Urban Pop

Before becoming one of the defining voices in Latin urban music, Becky first broke through in U.S. pop with “Shower.” She later reshaped the reggaetón landscape with hits like “Mayores” alongside Bad Bunny and “Sin Pijama” with Natti Natasha.

Becky’s collaborations span an impressive range — French Montana, Daddy Yankee, Zayn, Christina Aguilera, and David Guetta, among many others — reflecting her ability to cross genres with ease.

The film is directed by Jennifer Tiexiera and Gabriela Cavanagh, whose sensitive approach helped keep the project grounded and authentic. Many scenes were filmed in intimate settings — often just the two directors, Becky, and a handheld camera — creating a raw, unfiltered atmosphere.
