Last week, Saint Peter’s Basilica became the epicenter of an unprecedented event: the Grace for the World concert, which drew more than 100,000 people in a celebration of music, spirituality, and human fraternity. Under the artistic direction of iconic tenor Andrea Bocelli and producer Pharrell Williams, the spectacle marked the closing of the III World Meeting on Human Fraternity.
The eagerly awaited concert, broadcast live globally, featured renowned artists including Karol G, John Legend, Angelique Kidjo, Teddy Swims, and the gospel choir Voices of Fire.
Colombian star Karol G dazzled the audience with her performance of Mientras Me Curo del Corazón, while Bocelli opened with Amazing Grace, accompanied by an aerial drone show that lit the sky with images of the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo’s Pietà, and the face of former Pope Francis.

Karol also performed Milagros, another song filled with spirituality that resonated especially in this historic setting. One of the most emotional moments was the duet between Karol and Bocelli singing Vivo Por Ella, which left the audience visibly moved.
Pharrell Williams, in addition to performing his iconic Happy, asked the crowd to light up their phone flashes, transforming the square into a luminous galaxy. John Legend closed his set with a message of peace and hope for all humanity.
The event was also attended by figures such as Graça Machel Mandela, who emphasized the importance of justice in conflict zones like Palestine and Ukraine. Cardinal Mauro Gambetti, Archpriest of Saint Peter’s Basilica, noted the symbolism of the gathering as a gesture of openness to all people around the world.
The Grace for the World concert, which took place at Saint Peter’s Square in the Vatican and featured artists including Karol G, Andrea Bocelli, Pharrell Williams, and John Legend, will be available for streaming on Disney+ until September 27. This broadcast offers viewers the chance to relive one of the most historic musical events of the year. You can also watch it again for free on ABC News’ YouTube channel.
