After nearly 18 years, British singer Lily Allen is set to return to the SNL stage on December 13, 2025, during the show’s 51st season. She’ll appear as the musical guest alongside host Josh O’Connor. Allen last performed on Saturday Night Live in 2007, when she delivered live versions of her hits ‘Smile’ and ‘LDN’ in an episode hosted by Drew Barrymore.
Allen’s comeback to the show arrives as she promotes her new album, West End Girl, released on October 24. The project marks her first musical release in seven years and has drawn attention for its deeply personal, unfiltered tone.
According to Allen, the album blends real experiences with elements of autofiction — but the emotional core is unmistakable. The record explores topics such as the end of her marriage to actor David Harbour, best known globally for playing Jim Hopper in Stranger Things.

The album includes candid revelations, including accusations that Harbour was a sex addict and unfaithful, among other issues Allen experienced during their marriage. Public conversation around the project intensified even further after Millie Bobby Brown filed a formal complaint against Harbour, alleging harassment and intimidation during the filming of the show’s final season.
All of this has placed West End Girl at the center of a complex media moment. Making Allen’s return to SNL one of the most anticipated performances of the season.
Following Allen’s appearance, Cher will make her long-awaited return to Saturday Night Live—nearly four decades after her last time hosting. Earlier this year, she performed her 1989 classic ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’ during the SNL 50 anniversary concert, but her most recent appearance on the regular show dates back to 1987.
