The entertainment world across Latin America is mourning the tragic death of Federico Ezequiel Dorcazberro, better known as Fede Dorcaz, an Argentine model, singer, and social media personality who was shot and killed in Mexico City on October 9, 2025. He was only 29 years old.
Authorities in Mexico have opened an active investigation into the case, which has sparked outrage among fans in Mexico, Argentina, and beyond. The murder adds to a troubling string of violent attacks on public figures in recent months, raising fresh concerns about the safety of artists and influencers in the country.

According to the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City, Dorcaz was driving a rented SUV along the Periférico ring road, near Calle Electrificación in the Ampliación Daniel Garza neighborhood, part of the Miguel Hidalgo borough, when three men on motorcycles intercepted him.
Initial reports indicate the attackers opened fire at close range before fleeing the scene. Although early rumors suggested a robbery, investigators now believe the shooting was a targeted attack, as nothing appeared to have been stolen from the vehicle.
Local journalist Carlos Jiménez (@c4jimenez) shared footage on the social network X (formerly Twitter) that allegedly shows the suspects escaping after the shooting. Authorities have since collected surveillance footage from nearby cameras and are conducting ballistic and forensic analyses to identify those responsible.

As of mid-October, no arrests have been made, and officials have not confirmed a definitive motive. However, investigators continue to explore several hypotheses, including whether Dorcaz may have been the victim of an organized crime-related incident or a personal dispute.
Born in Argentina, Dorcaz began his career in Europe, where he worked as a professional model in Spain and Italy before relocating to the United States. In 2023, he settled in Mexico City, seeking to expand his artistic reach in Latin America.
He gained visibility through collaborations with Televisa, one of Mexico’s largest television networks, and was preparing to appear in the popular reality dance show “Las Estrellas Bailan en Hoy”. His charisma, charm, and dedication quickly made him a rising figure in the Mexican entertainment scene.

Dorcaz’s personal life also attracted public attention due to his relationship with Mariana Ávila, a Venezuelan singer and digital creator based in Mexico. The couple, who met in 2023, were set to participate together in the upcoming dance competition before tragedy struck.
The Mexico City Investigative Police (PDI) and the Forensic and Expert Services Coordination are currently leading the investigation. While robbery was initially considered, authorities are now treating the murder as a “direct attack”, implying that Dorcaz may have been specifically targeted.
Officials are collecting witness statements, reviewing hours of surveillance footage, and analyzing forensic evidence, including shell casings and trajectory reports. Despite extensive work, no clear motive has yet been established.

The killing of Fede Dorcaz adds to a disturbing trend of violence affecting public figures in Mexico. In recent weeks, the country has witnessed the brutal murders of Colombian musicians Bayron Sánchez Salazar (B-King) and Jorge Luis Herrera Lemos (DJ Regio Clown), both of whom were kidnapped and found dead with signs of torture in the State of Mexico.
Earlier this year, the deaths of stylist Miguel Ángel de la Mora in Polanco and content creator Valeria Márquez, who was fatally shot during a live broadcast, also sent shockwaves through Mexico’s online community.
Following Dorcaz’s death, Mariana Ávila has shared a series of emotional messages with her followers, expressing both her grief and her frustration with the slow pace of justice. On October 9, she wrote:
“You’ll always be my favorite person in the world. I love you, I love you, I love you — and I always will.”

In subsequent posts, Ávila described the pain of losing Dorcaz and demanded truth and accountability from authorities:
“My Fede was driving home after being with me. We spoke on the phone just minutes before. He was happy, telling his friends how well things were going. He was never involved in anything shady. Don’t twist the facts. Don’t lie to take away responsibility.”
Ávila also addressed rumors circulating online, insisting that her partner’s death was a botched assault, not a crime linked to organized groups or illicit activities.
“He was attacked by criminals, nothing more. They didn’t take his things because they panicked. Don’t tarnish the name of someone who lived honestly. He was an angel, a man who worked with integrity and faith.”
Her words have resonated widely, with fans and fellow influencers sharing messages of support and solidarity under the hashtag #JusticiaParaFedeDorcaz.
Authorities have stated that more information will be released as the investigation progresses. For now, family members, friends, and fans continue to demand justice — and to remember Fede Dorcaz not only for his artistic promise, but for his warmth, humility, and passion for life.
“He was too good for this world,” Ávila wrote. “But his light will keep shining through all of us who loved him.”
