After being diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer, Kang Seo-ha chose to keep doing what she loved. She continued working until her final days, filming scenes for the series “Mangnaein” (“In the Net”), where she starred alongside Kim Seon-ho and Park Gyu-young. The drama is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere in the second half of 2025 as a posthumous tribute to her talent and dedication.
The actress faced her treatment with strength and grace. Even as the cancer progressed quickly after her second round of chemotherapy, those who were close to her say she never stopped smiling or thinking about others.
Kang Seo Ha’s funeral will be held on July 16 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Seoul. She will be laid to rest in Haman, in Gyeongsangnam Province — a quiet, private place chosen by her family.
Among the many heartfelt messages shared online, one written by a family member has especially touched those who admired her: “Even though you were going through so much pain, you always put others first. Even when you couldn’t eat, you still insisted on paying for my meals. You kept saying you were thankful it wasn’t worse. My dear sister, you endured more than anyone should. I hope you’re finally at peace, happy and free from pain.”
