Spain’s global pop sensation Rosalía stopped by Hispanic nº1 Music Radio LOS40’s hit morning show Anda Ya this week to give fans a sneak peek of her highly anticipated fourth studio album, LUX.

Hosted by Dani Moreno ‘El Gallo’ and Cristina Boscá, the interview offered a rare glimpse into the creative process behind the record and the emotions driving the singer as she prepares for one of the biggest releases of her career.

“The album is called LUX, which means ‘light’ in Latin,” Rosalía explained. “I’ve never done a project like this before. It’s very different from what I’ve done. I can say it has the intention of using a more distinct sound, a more orchestral palette, and a different theme. There’s a lot of inspiration in spirituality… and I’ll leave it at that.”

After teasing fans for years with snippets and hints, Rosalía finally confirmed the album’s release date: November 7, 2025. “I had the desire to release it so many times that eventually I made a mix in my head of all the dates I wanted it to come out and didn’t,” she said. “But now it’s coming—LUX on November 7.” The album boasts 18 tracks, organized into four “movements,” offering listeners a cinematic and immersive experience.

The True Meaning Behind Rosalía’s ‘LUX’

When asked how fans should approach listening to LUX, Rosalía emphasized the importance of experiencing the record as a whole: “I love that people make their own interpretations of anything. I’m excited for them to listen to the album and make their own interpretations. It’s an album to be heard in its entirety, with a lot of intention, from beginning to end.”

In addition to the album talk, the show’s resident psychic, Benita, gave Rosalía a tarot reading. The reading seemed to reflect the themes of transformation and growth that run throughout LUX.

“There comes a moment when the Devil card appears and tells you that you have to destroy the past, deconstruct it. You’ve been building what you had. Now you have to let go and be reborn, to find the new Rosalía. Now you know that you didn’t want that,” Benita explained. Rosalía responded, “I fully recognize myself in what she says. I’d say that LUX, the album title, represents this new era.”

Benita also hinted at Rosalía’s creative future beyond music. “Writing for me is very different than songwriting—it’s prose. And in that sense, I’m discovering myself… I’ve written, yes, for this album,” Rosalía reflected. “You’re going to write more than Cervantes. It’s the need to leave everything behind in writing.”

Finally, the reading touched on matters of the heart. Rosalía admitted she values maintaining friendships with past partners. “I’m glad. I appreciate it if friendship can be maintained. Sometimes it’s possible, sometimes not. Even with friendships. It’s a shame when it doesn’t work out, but if it can, I really appreciate it,” she said.

Rosalía Will Perform at the LOS40 Music Awards Santander 2025

Rosalía will celebrate the release of LUX with a live performance at the LOS40 Music Awards Santander 2025. “I have a lot of love for Valencia and I’m really looking forward to being back. It’s been a long time since I’ve performed live—about two years. I’m really excited,” she shared, hinting that her performance will be one of the most talked-about moments of the night.

With LUX, Rosalía seems poised to redefine her artistry while embracing transformation, spirituality, and emotional honesty—lighting the way for a new chapter in her already groundbreaking career.
