On Monday, September 8, a decomposing body was discovered inside a Tesla. While the case is disturbing on its own, the car is registered to singer David Anthony Burke, better known as d4vd. He’s one of the artists featured on Funny Little Dream (Deluxe), set to release this Friday by Damiano David.
Los Angeles police confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that officers responded to reports of a foul odor coming from a vehicle impounded at a tow yard in Los Angeles. Inside, detectives found human remains in an advanced state of decomposition. The victim has not yet been identified.
A spokesperson told NBC News: “David has been informed about what’s happened. Although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities”. According to reports, the Tesla had been abandoned in the Hollywood Hills the previous week. At the same time d4vd was performing in the Midwest, and was later taken to a tow yard in Hollywood.

Investigators believe the body may have been in the trunk for about five days before the car was towed. Due to the condition in which it was found, authorities have not yet been able to determine the cause of death or identify the victim.
The investigation is still underway. The singer has not publicly commented, though reports indicate he is cooperating with authorities.
Coincidentally, on the same day the discovery was made, d4vd announced the release of the deluxe edition of his album Withered, set to drop on September 19.
On his Insta, he shared: “Thank you all eternally for waiting on me. This album means SO much to me you have no idea the blood sweat and tears that came with trying to create this project over the past 2 years. Constantly starting over and over and over until there was nothing left on this audio landscape of a canvas than thoughts, melodies, and emotions that were unequivocally me.”
