Shakira continues to shine with her international Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour. Since the tour kicked off, the Colombian star has been the talk of the town thanks to her incredible performances. However, not everything is celebration in the singer’s life. From her hometown of Barranquilla, difficult news has emerged: her father, William Mebarak, has been hospitalized and is reportedly in serious condition, according to sources close to the family.

Journalist Jordi Martin, known for closely covering Shakira’s personal life, raised concern through his YouTube channel, revealing that William Mebarak’s health has worsened in recent hours. The update he received was clear: “his condition is very delicate.”

A Long Health Battle

At 92 years old, William Mebarak has been dealing with ongoing health challenges. Since 2022 — around the time Shakira’s high-profile breakup with Gerard Piqué made headlines — he has faced a series of medical setbacks. During those difficult days, when the media was buzzing about Piqué’s new relationship with Clara Chía, William suffered a fall at his home in Barcelona, leading to an emergency brain surgery.

Since then, his health has remained fragile. He’s undergone multiple surgeries, gone through intense recovery periods, and most recently, was hospitalized again in June 2024 due to a case of pneumonia. With this latest admission in Barranquilla, the family is on high alert.

The last time he was seen in public was in December 2024. He visited the statue that artist Yino Márquez dedicated to his daughter Shakira at the Malecón del Río.

That moment, captured in photos, has stayed in the hearts of many and now carries even deeper meaning. Today, fans are rallying around the singer with messages of support and hope for her father’s recovery.

Between the spotlight, the concerts, and the global fame, Shakira is going through something deeply personal — the pain of watching a loved one fight for their health. On social media, thousands of fans have been sharing messages of encouragement using hashtags like #FuerzaShaki and #FuerzaDonWilliam, standing by her during this delicate  moment.
