Shakira winning the GRAMMY for Best Latin Pop Album was one of the most widely predicted outcomes of the awards—and it has finally come true! The Barranquilla-born superstar not only stunned with a stellar performance—including Gregorian chants—featuring a medley of songs like Ojos Así and the BZRP Music Session, but also took home one of the event’s most coveted awards. She triumphed over Anitta’s Funk Generation, Luis Fonsi’s El Viaje, Kany García’s GARCÍA, and Kali Uchis’ ORQUÍDEAS.

The Colombian singer used her acceptance speech to send a message to the migrant community in the United States, amid a political climate marked by tougher border policies and increased deportations under newly elected President Donald Trump.

«I want to dedicate this award to my immigrant brothers and sisters in this country. You are loved, you are worthy, and I will always fight for you. And to all the women who work so hard every day for their families—you are the true heroines. This is for you!» said the Hips Don’t Lie singer on the GRAMMY stage, where she also thanked her two sons, Sasha and Milan.

Shakira is finally set to kick off her long-awaited Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran Tour to celebrate her latest album. The tour will begin on February 11 at the Nilton Santos Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and she will return to the United States in May and June 2025.
