Music collaborations are everywhere these days—and for good reason. They’re great for both the industry and the artists. And let’s be honest, who doesn’t love seeing two of their favorite stars team up on a track? Selena Gomez is one artist who’s embraced this trend with ease.

Throughout her career, she’s worked with a wide range of artists, from Rema on the hit ‘Calm Down’—a song that helped launch his sound globally and brought Selena back into the spotlight—to her more recent collab with Gracie Abrams on ‘Call Me When You Break Up.’ And that’s not even counting the album I Said I Love You First with her fiancé, producer Benny Blanco.

With all these collaborations, it’s fair to ask: is there anyone left on Selena’s wishlist?

In a recent episode of GOAT Talk with Complex, where she sat down with Karol G to answer fun, random questions from a deck of cards, Selena was asked to name the best artist she’s ever collaborated with. Instead of choosing just one—“so I don’t wanna insult anyone,” she joked—Karol G offered a different take: “Maybe you can choose one you haven’t done”.

A Dream Collaboration

Selena didn’t think twice, and the answer was clear: Ariana Grande. “I love her aura,” she said with a smile—getting an instant “I love that!” from Karol G. Although the two haven’t worked together yet, both have massive fan bases who would love to see them on the same track.

The conversation also turned to the songs that hit them hardest emotionally. For Selena, there’s no doubt: when she needs a good cry, she turns to Adele. Her go-to is ‘All I Ask’—a song she says captures that raw, painful moment of acceptance right before a goodbye. Karol G, meanwhile, shared that ‘Cry’ by Cigarettes After Sex is her perfect soundtrack for letting emotions out.

That’s when Selena surprised everyone by revealing an unexpected collaboration with the dream pop band. “I actually recorded a song with them—I’ll play it for you later. I love them too!” she said, clearly excited. The track, titled ‘Guess You Could Say I’m In Love,’ is featured on her latest album, I Said I Love You First, and was co-written with the band’s lead singer, Greg Gonzalez.

With that reveal, Selena and Karol gave fans not only a major scoop, but also a heartfelt and genuine moment between two artists who clearly admire each other.
