As we might expect, ‘Sunset Blvd’ by Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco is a very special song for the couple. The reason? It’s named after the street where they had their first date. Selena herself revealed this detail on her Instagram.
The most heartwarming part? She shared it alongside their first photo together—well, the first one ‘as a couple.’ The black-and-white selfie shows the singer and the producer smiling while looking at the camera.
“Our first date was on Sunset Blvd, and it’s also the title of our next song together 🖤 Sunset Blvd out March 14 with @itsbennyblanco,” Selena wrote alongside the picture.
Sunset Blvd is a street in Los Angeles, California, that stretches for 39 kilometers. It’s also an iconic part of Hollywood culture. While the street itself is long, when people talk about it in pop culture, they’re usually referring to the section known as The Sunset Strip (often just called The Strip), which covers Hollywood and West Hollywood.
This area is home to some of the city’s most popular spots and is considered the center of Los Angeles’ nightlife. So, it makes sense that the producer and singer would have had their first date there. We’ll have to wait to hear the song, but it seems like it will be about their first date together.
