Rauw Alejandro has officially entered a new era with the release of “Buenos Términos”, the first taste of his upcoming album Cosa Nuestra II. More than just a single, the track sets the emotional and conceptual tone for what the Puerto Rican artist calls “Chapter 0” of this next project — a symbolic prequel to Cosa Nuestra, one of his most ambitious and theatrical albums to date.
“Buenos Términos” tells the story of a turbulent relationship, filled with conflict, passion, and a mutual inability to let go. Rauw describes a love that constantly swings between chaos and reconciliation. With lines like “You’re bipolar, I’m kind of rude / Let’s destroy the house, end up on the floor… until we reach good terms,” the song captures the essence of a dynamic where every fight ends in a new beginning.
Sonically, the track incorporates Afro-Caribbean elements layered over a reggaetón beat, reinforcing Rauw’s desire to reconnect with his Puerto Rican roots. He first previewed the song to fans via WhatsApp with a teaser and described it, half-jokingly, as “a little toxic.”
Rauw is, without a doubt, one of the best performers in the entire music industry, and it seems he’s ready to bring us much more than just singing and dancing soon.
The song’s dark tone is echoed in its cinematic music video, directed by Martin Seipel and El Zorro. The video opens with Rauw standing alone on a rooftop in the middle of a storm — a metaphor for the emotional tension at the heart of the track — and alternates between intimate moments with a lover and intense dance sequences. As always, Rauw blends his musical and visual identities, showcasing not only his voice but also his skills as a dancer and performer.
“Buenos Términos” isn’t just another single — it’s the first official step into Cosa Nuestra II, an album that promises to expand on the world Rauw introduced with Cosa Nuestra. While that project was built around a gangster-romantic persona with sharp aesthetics and theatrical flair, the sequel (or rather, prequel) will feature more musical variety and intentional collaborations. In a past interview with LOS40, Rauw hinted at “a lot of reggaetón from La Mata, from Puerto Rico,” as well as new sounds within the same narrative universe.
This new phase began back in April with “Carita Linda”, a neo-bomba track that honored his ancestors and topped Latin Airplay and Latin Pop Airplay charts — his 12th number-one hit. Together, “Carita Linda” and “Buenos Términos” reveal two sides of Rauw’s new creative direction: rooted in heritage, but emotionally unfiltered and raw.
Intro
Baby, if I run away
Baby, if I— (Oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh)
Baby, if I run away (Yeah)
Baby, if I— (Ra-Rauw, hey, Ra-Rauw)
Verse 1
What we had started off kind of casual
You started getting comfy, then asked for it without protection, oof
You bring out the problematic in me, hey
Baby, you’re gonna hook me fast
Pre-Chorus
If you want to see me, don’t make excuses
The problem isn’t feeling—it’s who says it first
You’re bipolar, I’m kind of rude
Let’s tear the house down, end up on the floor
Chorus
Until we reach good terms, good terms
She came in a splash and ended up right here on top, ended up, ended up
I turned on the flash while she was on all fours, and she bent over more
Good terms, good terms
You came, tell me when you haven’t
Tell me when you haven’t, when you haven’t
We fight and then we eat each other up and end on good terms
Interlude
Mami
Take off your heels and bend over right there
Go on, Don, go
Pass the Don Julio so the girl starts to slide
She’s only wearing tanning oil under her T-shirt
She’s sweet like matcha with agave
But sometimes that bratty side of her comes out
When the high hits and she wants more
She left, said she wouldn’t come back—but she’s a boomerang
Like Catwoman, she’s marked by the bad
You run into her in La Serra like nothing ever happened
And I like that
But I’m the bastard, baby, that you like
Yeah, I’ve already had her, saw her real close
Eh, Rauw Alejandro
Pre-Chorus
And if you want to see me, don’t make excuses
The problem isn’t feeling—it’s who says it first
You’re bipolar, I’m kind of rude
Let’s tear the house down, end up on the floor
Chorus
Until we reach good terms (No), good terms (No)
She came in a splash and ended up right here on top, ended up, ended up (No, eh)
I turned on the flash while she was on all fours, and she bent over more
Good terms, good terms (Oh-oh)
You came, tell me when you haven’t (Mmm)
Tell me when you haven’t, when you haven’t
We fight and then we eat each other up and end on good terms (Eh)
Outro
Ra-Rauw Alejandro, hey
Ra-Rauw, hey
Talk to me, Ninow, hey
Ah
While Rauw is currently on a brief break from touring — having just completed the European leg of his Cosa Nuestra World Tour — he will resume in October across Latin America. The final stretch of his tour will include stops in Santiago, Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Bogotá, Mexico City, and more.
Until then, “Buenos Términos” gives fans a first glimpse of what’s coming: a bold, more introspective Rauw Alejandro who isn’t afraid to get messy, emotionally and musically — as long as it ends, at least for now, on good terms.
