Nicki Nicole Confesses Her Love for Lamine Yamal: What She Said

The Argentine singer’s love declaration and the reunion between Paris Jackson and Ester Expósito were among the most talked-about moments of the Desigual Studio Fashion Show

On September 10, the pop culture calendar kicked off in Barcelona —the Desigual Studio Fashion Show that brought together dozens of familiar and highly anticipated faces. And LOS40 couldn’t miss it.

La Nau de Turbinas, a historic power plant recognized for the massive chimneys visible from the Barcelona coastline, was the venue chosen by the brand to present its new collection. The industrial space — enormous, by the way — was partially remodeled for the event. It looked like a mix between Eastern Europe’s famous ruin bars and a Berlin techno club, with its huge windows overlooking the sea.

Both national and international stars were in attendance. We witnessed the warm reunion of Paris Jackson and Ester Expósito (“That whole feud was something you guys made up,” the Madrid-born actress told the press before the event), as well as Nicki Nicole’s public love declaration for Lamine Yamal.

The Argentine singer showed up at the photocall in an asymmetric newspaper-print dress, inspired by Carrie Bradshaw’s iconic Sex and the City outfit. After weeks of speculation following the footballer’s buzzed-about birthday party, the Rosario-born artist surprised everyone.

“Very happy to be in Barcelona, feeling all the love from people. Very much in love,” she said, smiling to reporters. She also mentioned that she needed to learn Catalan and that Lamine had already taught her a word: t’estimo (“I love you”).

The couple reportedly met at the Barça player’s 18th birthday party and, after a trip to Monaco days later, seem to be solidifying their romance.

After the photocall, the runway began and lasted several minutes. The collection was showcased on the top floor of an industrial building, bathed in natural light from giant glass windows. Yellow seemed to be the central color of the campaign, though the looks mixed autumnal tones with splashes of deep red and vibrant silver. The models walked to pounding techno beats and flashing lights, immersing the crowd in full-on club culture. One question remains: when will we finally get our coveted front row seat?
