Miley Cyrus has just made a big announcement: her highly anticipated new album, Something Beautiful, finally has a release date. The singer’s ninth studio album, and her first since Endless Summer Vacation in 2023, will be available on all platforms starting May 30.
As she confirmed on social media, the album will feature 13 tracks, produced by Miley herself along with Shawn Everett, a well-known producer who has worked with major artists like Beyoncé, Adele, Kacey Musgraves, and Conan Gray. Everything suggests this album will spark plenty of conversation, as it marks a new chapter in Miley’s return to her own music.
Although it’s still too early to know exactly what it will sound like—since she hasn’t released a single yet—Miley did drop a hint in a recent interview. She shared that one of her key inspirations is The Wall by Pink Floyd: “I feel a deep connection to it… My idea was to make The Wall, but with better outfits—more glamorous and full of pop culture.”

Alongside the release date announcement, Miley Cyrus gave fans a first look at the visual concept for her new album. The cover features a dramatic portrait of Miley wearing a crystal and white feather headpiece—almost like a mythological creature from another galaxy. And this image is no coincidence. The photos were taken by renowned photographer Glen Luchford.
For the cover, Miley is dressed in a 1997 Thierry Mugler design—a bold choice that perfectly matches the album’s daring aesthetic and visual narrative. But why did she choose Mugler?

Thierry Mugler was a legendary French designer who dressed some of the most iconic stars in the world, including Beyoncé and Lady Gaga. Miley wanted to bring that same bold energy to this project, choosing a vintage look straight from Mugler’s archives.
The headpiece featured on the cover is from the designer’s Spring/Summer 1997 collection, one of the most celebrated collections of his career—an ideal fit for the fantasy and power Miley is channeling in this new era.
