Michelada Fest is bringing the full force of Latin music and culture to Chicago on July 19 and 20 at Oakwood Beach (4100 S Lakeshore Dr.). The event will be hosted by two special guests: Leo González and Karla Hernández.
The festival gets its name from the michelada, a popular Mexican drink made with beer, lime juice, sauces, spices, and chili or chamoy. It’s often compared to a beer-based Bloody Mary thanks to its bold, tangy, and spicy flavor. Some versions include Clamato (clam-tomato juice), a variation commonly known as a ‘chelada preparada’ or ‘Michelada con Clamato’.
