Anitta has worked hard to earn her place, not just in Brazil’s music scene, but on a global level. Through dedication, perseverance, and talent, she has built a career that’s as inspiring as it is impressive. But beyond the superstar, there’s a whole other side to her story.

That’s exactly what Netflix will explore in Larissa, a new documentary that promises to show the ‘real’ Anitta behind the fame. “Larissa is fragile and sensitive. Anitta is super strong,” the teaser reveals, highlighting the contrast between her personal and public personas.

The film is fold from what seems to be the perspective of a former love from her youth. Larissa will take us through her journey—both personal and professional—and how success changed her life. ‘Fans won’t just get to see her career milestones, but also her personal struggles and triumphs,’ the film promises.

From growing up in the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro to taking Brazilian music to the world, Anitta has become an icon, earning some of the biggest recognitions in her country’s history.

In 2012, Anitta burst onto the global music scene with ‘Meiga e Abusada,’ marking the start of a career filled with success. She then released ‘Envolver,’ which propelled her to international fame. Since then, she has collaborated with J Balvin, Major Lazer, Madonna, Maluma, Becky G, Rita Ora, Swae Lee, DJ Snake, and many more, solidifying her place in the industry.

But 2023 was a turning point in her life, one that changed everything: “Right now, my music feels like a rebirth because I’m starting over—new team, new label, new sound, everything from scratch. Late last year, I went through a really tough time and spent five months in the hospital. I had to put my career on pause and couldn’t even enjoy the recognition I was getting because my health took a serious hit. I had to cancel my European tour, and all I kept hearing was that I wasn’t going to make it… But I refused to give up on my dream.”

As for her upcoming documentary, there’s no release date yet. A press statement sent to media and agencies simply says it will be available ‘soon,’ offering fans a chance to see a whole new side of Anitta.
