Karla Sofía Gascon’s Funny Trip

«I just want to take a moment to share what happened to me last night because it was quite ‘funny,’ for lack of a better word. I think it’s important to laugh at ourselves,» she said, introducing her story.

Gascón explained that the day after the ceremony, she decided to try some items from the gift bag. She ate a bag of chips and drank a lemon soda, but soon after, she started feeling dizzy and increasingly unwell.

At this point, Gascón attached a picture of the can’s label, which read MG THC—referring to tetrahydrocannabinol, the main psychoactive compound in cannabis. This is the substance responsible for the altered perception and mood changes associated with marijuana use.

The actress also expressed her relief that her daughter hadn’t accidentally taken the drink to school.
