Justin Bieber Announces SWAG II: Release Details and What We Know

The pink cover art suggests a brighter, more playful—or even romantic—side of Bieber

Justin Bieber is making (another) comeback with a brand-new album, a direct sequel to SWAG. True to form, the Canadian singer dropped the news as a surprise, just like he did with the first record. This time, though, SWAG II looks like it’s going in a different direction. The pink cover art suggests a brighter, more playful—or even romantic—side of Bieber, standing in contrast to the original album.

The best part? Fans won’t have to wait. SWAG II arrives tonight. Bieber confirmed on social media that it will go live at midnight on September 5. As with his last release, the album will be available across all official platforms, including Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music, iTunes, and more.

From the hints Justin Bieber has been dropping, it looks like this album will lean into a lighter, more pop-driven sound. When SWAG first came out, it hit hard, but the only track that really stuck on the charts was ‘Daisies’—a song much closer to the kind of pop you’d expect from him.

Most of the other tracks lacked that pop energy and the elevated production Bieber usually delivers. That’s why many fans believe this new album will bring more of that polished pop vibe. Another possibility is that SWAG II could include songs originally made for SWAG but cut because they didn’t match the mood of that record. If that’s the case, this new album might feel like the Side B of his previous one.

Bieber’s Pink Era

One thing’s for sure: this new era is looking very pink. Not only is it the theme of Justin Bieber’s upcoming album, but he’s also dropping a clothing line to celebrate his eighth studio record—and yes, it’s pink. Completely pink.

Even his socials have been rebranded in the same shade. And naturally, the memes are already rolling in, comparing this new chapter to his past eras and highlighting the contrast with SWAG.
