Katy Perry first exploded onto the music scene back in 2008 with her massive hit ‘I Kissed a Girl’, and since then she’s delivered a string of unforgettable anthems. But her latest album, 143, hasn’t had the same impact—it’s slipped under the radar. To be fair, the same thing happened with her previous records, Smile (2020) and Witness (2017).

After classics like ‘California Gurls,’ ‘Hot n Cold,’ ‘Teenage Dream,’ ‘Roar,’ and ‘Dark Horse’—all now more than a decade old—it’s been a while since Katy landed a chart-topping hit on Billboard. That might sound like the decline of a pop star, but that’s not the case.

Right now, Katy is out on her world tour, The Lifetimes Tour. And despite a few bumps along the way, it’s turning out to be a huge success. We’re not just saying that—the numbers prove it. Her team even shared with Billboard that this tour—her first since 2018—is performing incredibly well, solidifying that Katy still knows how to pack arenas worldwide.

Katy Perry has sold 1.1 million tickets so far, pulling in over $80 million. Sure, it’s not the $2 billion Taylor Swift earned with The Eras Tour, but Katy’s not playing nearly as many dates or filling the same giant venues that kept Taylor on the road for almost two years straight.

Since launching this ambitious and much-needed project, Perry has stayed in the headlines—mostly because of questions around whether the tour would be profitable, and for the unexpected problems that seemed to follow her from city to city.

And The Lifetimes Tour hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing. She nearly had a wardrobe malfunction onstage. A fan fainted mid-show.

A random stage crasher slipped past security. She almost pulled a Beyoncé moment falling from her flying butterfly prop.

She even got shocked by her own stage setup. In short, a whole string of chaotic mishaps.
