For this song, the Colombian steps away from reggaeton to dive into hip-hop

We’re just a month into 2025, and Trueno has already kicked off the year with two big collaborations. The first one, Angelito, dropped on January 17 alongside Bad Gyal, bringing an infectious afrobeat rhythm that had everyone dancing. He even surprised fans by rapping a few lines in Catalan, showing off his versatility.

Now, his second release comes straight from Latin America—a collaboration with Feid called CRUZ. The song explores themes of salvation and forgiveness, or as they put it, finding ‘the light’ since their ‘sins are bigger than the cross.’ This line is a reference to the biblical crucifixion of Jesus Christ, believed to be a sacrifice for humanity’s sins.

For this track, Feid steps away from reggaeton to dive into the genre that shaped Trueno’s career: hip-hop. ‘CRUZ’ also marks the first-ever collaboration between the two artists, making it a release fans had been eagerly waiting for.

One of the standout lines in the song goes: “Loving someone and tying yourself down out of insecurity are two different things / And not out of interest, baby, just say yes so you can see me / I’m a dark-skinned guy and I don’t speak English / But I’m going to give you the world, don’t expect less (pero te daré el mundo, no esperes menos) She wants the hand of an Argentine, and I’ll be there in ten.”

That last line could be more than just a romantic reference—it might also be a nod to Maradona and his famous ‘Hand of God’ goal from the 1986 World Cup in Mexico. Or it could hint at Messi, another Argentine legend, since both players have always been associated with the iconic number 10 jersey.

‘CRUZ’ English Lyrics

[Verse 1: Trueno]

Mai, I already lost count of how much time has passed since the last time (Mai)
How much time did you lose? How much more do you have?
Now you have another man, you’re doing well for yourself
Loving someone and tying yourself down (Haha) out of insecurity and not out of interest are two different things
Baby, just say «yes» (Yes), so you can see me
I’m a dark-skinned guy and I don’t speak English
But I’m going to give you the world (Haha), don’t expect less
She wants the hand of an Argentine, and I’ll be there in ten

[Chorus: Trueno]

She tells me to be cautious
And I stay ready in case that fool gets mad, uh
She says I need to tone down my attitude
That’s why I’m going where you are
Mami, if your eyes are my light
And my sins are bigger than the cross
That’s why I’m going where you are
Mami, if your eyes are my light
And my sins are bigger
But I’ll go all in if you’re coming with me

[Verse 2: Feid]

I miss you, and nobody checks the VAR
You like crippy, and he only gives you Old Parr
Mami, we didn’t even get to break in the G-Class
I’m feeling like texting you “what’s up?”
To remind myself of those times at events

You looking stunning and crazy about my accent
I take her down, but I don’t buy her story
That you were always heartless (Wow)
You and I could’ve been Tumblr love
We used to smoke on the weekends, you were fancy, you studied at Cumbres
You had never partied at a brothel
You like my posts, and all that s**t confuses me (Uy)
[Feid & Trueno]

So much for a woman who forgot me
So much love for a beauty who lied and cheated on me
How many times will I have to say goodbye?
Let’s be real, I just don’t know how to leave
So much love for a girl who easily forgot me
So much love for a beauty who lied and cheated on me
How many times will I have to say goodbye?
Let’s be real, I just don’t know how to leave, wow

[Trueno]

She tells me to be cautious
And I stay ready in case that fool gets mad
She says I need to tone down my attitude
That’s why I’m going where you are,
Mami, if your eyes are my light
And my sins are bigger than the cross
That’s why I’m going where you are,
Mami, if your eyes are my light
And my sins are bigger
But I’ll go all in if you’re coming with me (Pa)

[Outro: Trueno]

Haha, yeah
It’s TR, woh
With FER—, with FERXXO
Mami, I’ll find you wherever you are, yo
Yeah
Argentina, Colombia, yeah
Shoutout to my bro.
