Ana Escobar Rivas—The hit Netflix series Emily in Paris is making a comeback at the end of 2025 with its highly anticipated fifth season. The new chapter drops on December 18. It promises fresh drama, stunning locations, and unexpected twists as Emily Cooper —played by Lily Collins— takes on a whole new personal and professional journey in Venice, Italy.

Netflix has already revealed the first official images, confirming that part of the story will unfold in the romantic Italian city. In them, Emily can be seen exploring Venice’s iconic canals, hinting at a big shift in scenery compared to the Paris-centered seasons.

According to the official season 5 synopsis, Emily is now leading Agence Grateau Roma and faces new challenges both at work and in love. Just when it seems like she’s finally found some stability, one professional idea goes wrong and sets off a chain of consequences that shake up her career and her relationships.

Searching for balance, Emily leans back into her French lifestyle. But an unexpected secret threatens one of her closest bonds. Through honesty and facing tough conflicts head-on, Emily will strengthen her connections, gain new clarity, and open herself to possibilities she never saw coming.

Who’s in the Cast?

The main cast is back with familiar faces: Lily Collins (Emily Cooper) will once again be joined by Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie), Ashley Park (Mindy Chen), Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Samuel Arnold (Julien), Bruno Gouery (Luc), William Abadie (Antoine Lambert), and Lucien Laviscount (Alfie).

But season 5 will also bring in some new (and returning) names. Eugenio Franceschini is back as Marcello Muratori —the Italian love interest we first met in season 4. Thalia Besson returns as Genevieve after her brief cameo. Arnaud Binard reprises his role as Laurent G, tied to Emily’s professional world.

Plus, some fresh additions: Minnie Driver as Princess Jane, an aristocrat who crosses paths with Emily; Bryan Greenberg as Jake, a mysterious new character; Michèle Laroque as Yvette; and Paul Forman, whose role is still under wraps.

There’s also one big absence. Camille Razat, who played Camille, won’t be returning. Her storyline with Gabriel wrapped up in season 4 after the truth about her fake pregnancy came out and the couple decided to end things for good.

The series, created by Darren Star —who also serves as writer and executive producer— keeps its usual creative team. Lily Collins not only stars as Emily Cooper but also takes on a producer role. The production lineup is completed by Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, Andrew Fleming, Stephen Brown, Alison Brown, Robin Schiff, Grant Sloss, and Joe Murphy.

How Many Episodes Will Emily in Paris 5 Have?

Season 5 of Emily in Paris will feature 10 episodes, each running about 30 minutes. All episodes will drop at once on Netflix on the premiere date, so fans can binge-watch the entire season.

With new settings, deeper conflicts, and a noticeable evolution in Emily’s character, this upcoming season is shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet. Fans can expect a mix of fashion, romance, drama, and humor —all wrapped in the signature style that has made Emily in Paris a global hit.
