Demi Lovato is ready to make a powerful return! Her new single, ‘Fast,’ drops this Friday, August 1.

The former Disney star had already given fans a preview of the song on TikTok back in mid-July, but now she’s made it official—confirming the release date on Instagram. Alongside a few stunning photos where she’s seen leaning confidently on the hood of a car, Demi captioned the post: “Me when i serve my favorite dish… FAST OUT FRIDAY 8.1”

The images are part of the upcoming music video, as we’ve now seen—and everything suggests that this marks the start of a bold new chapter. And it’s not just speculation; Demi herself hinted at big things ahead. In her Instagram Stories, she wrote: “A new era has arrived. And I know I shouldn’t have kept you waiting… but I’m here now.”

‘Fast’ is shaping up to be the first glimpse into a new musical era for Demi Lovato—one driven by a dance-pop sound she hasn’t tapped into in years. Over the past few days, she’s shared several clips of the track on social media, where her voice floats over a bright, summery electronic beat. In one verse, she sings softly: “I wanna go fast / I wanna go hard / I wanna go anywhere, anywhere you are.”

This release marks a clear shift from her recent projects. In 2022, Lovato embraced a rock-inspired sound with Holy Fvck, where she also met her now-husband, Jutes. She later revisited her pop hits with a punk edge on the album Revamped.

Now, as reported by Rolling Stone, she’s working on a full dance-pop album with producer Zhone. With ‘Fast,’ Demi Lovato isn’t just returning to pop—she’s doing it with the energy, rhythm, and edge that once made her a global sensation. We’ll just have to wait until this Friday to hear the full track.
