While 2025 seems to be the year of celebrity engagements, others are going their separate ways. That appears to be the case for Benson Boone and Maggie Thurmon, who recently unfollowed each other on Instagram. And in today’s digital age, that usually points to just one thing: a breakup.

On September 7, Maggie was still spotted at Benson’s concert in North Carolina, but it seems that chapter has since closed.
Keeping a relationship alive in the music world can be a tough challenge, with busy schedules and long stretches apart often taking their toll.

Boone, in particular, has been non-stop this past year. Just two days after that North Carolina show, he met with fans in Nashville and admitted he had had “a rough day,” though he added that being on stage made him “very happy.” Perhaps that was around the time the couple decided to end things.

Boone and Thurmon went public in March 2024, attending the Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscars viewing party together in West Hollywood. Three months later, Maggie shared a video of them holding hands, confirming what fans had long suspected.

Since Boone became a household name and took the world by storm with ‘Beautiful Things,’ the actress and influencer has been the only girlfriend he’s been linked to. And in just a short time, his life has changed dramatically.

Earlier this month, during his concert at Madison Square Garden, Boone grew emotional as he remembered how, four years earlier, he and his manager had promised each other they would play there one day. And now, they’ve made it happen.

Professionally, he’s on a high with a 50-date North American tour, but on a personal level, things look very different. “They’re no longer together, although it’s not clear what caused the split,” a source told TMZ. So far, neither of them has commented publicly, but it seems clear their paths have gone separate ways. Time will tell if this breakup ends up inspiring some of the singer’s next hits.
