Arcángel in Hospital Following Major Heart Surgery
Once he has recovered, the singer confirmed that his new album will be released
Puerto Rican singer Arcángel has shared on his social media about his recent heart surgery. He posted two photos on Instagram during this difficult time. In the first, he’s seen with a slight smile and a positive expression while lying in a hospital bed. Then, we see his chest with the large scar that marks his body.
In a heartfelt message, the singer opened up to his fans about how he’s feeling after the surgery and during one of the toughest times of his life.
“I’m going through, and at the same time overcoming, the biggest test that GOD and LIFE have given me. I have a sick and wounded heart, but despite everything, it refuses to stop beating. Once again, the GREAT SOVEREIGN LORD gave me another chance, and this time, I don’t intend to let Him down!” he wrote on his social media.

But it’s not all bad news. Once he has recovered, the singer confirmed that his new album will be released.
He shared, “I finished an album during the hardest part of my recovery. It hurts, it bothers, it itches, and it burns, but no physical pain can compare to the sadness my soul will carry for the rest of my life. So, with all the LOVE, FEAR, and RESPECT I have for my GOD, I want to tell you that I’m ready and more than prepared for the next challenge He decides to set before me!”
Heart Health History
This isn’t the first time the Puerto Rican artist has opened up about his heart issues. On September 16, 2019, he experienced a pre-heart attack, which, according to Univisión, led him to undergo a catheterization and require regular heart check-ups. Later that same year, Arcángel took to Instagram to update his followers on his health.
“My heart belongs more to you than to me. That’s why I can’t leave now. Though it will happen when God decides, and I’ll be here when He does. In the meantime, I’m still standing and alive. Support Arcángel while I’m here, I represent those with no way out, and that’s why the underworld inspires me,” he wrote.
In 2020, Arcángel again used his Instagram to share that he was dealing with heart disease. “For a year, I’ve been battling a sick heart, and now there’s a supposed spot on my brain,” he explained at the time.
